OreDropsOnMe
Intended for TopMining; may also work with similar mining mods using Valheim's native MineRock5 drop flow.
About this mod Author’s original text
Ore Drops on Me
A standalone BepInEx plugin intended to work with TopMining by BlackViking. It moves player-caused MineRock5 drops away from the deposit's breaking point and into the miner's surroundings. It may also work with similar mining mods that use Valheim's native MineRock5.DamageArea(int, HitData) drop flow.
For each player-caused MineRock5 drop, the mod tries a clear spot just above the player. If overhead space is blocked, it searches nearby ground behind and beside the player, preferring the closest ring with clear positions. The search checks for collision geometry and places the drop slightly above the ground.
Only the native drop-position calculation in MineRock5.DamageArea(int, HitData) is changed. Drops from trees and other game objects are outside this patch. Non-player damage keeps the game's native positions.
Config
The mod creates com.codex.oredropsonme.cfg with:
- [General] OreDropsAtMiner = true — set to false to keep the game's native drop positions.
The option is independent of TopMining's key and mode settings. It works for player-caused MineRock5 drops even when TopMining's top-mining mode is not active, matching the previous integrated behavior.
Requirements
- BepInExPack Valheim 5.4.2350 or later
- Intended for TopMining by BlackViking (the plugin soft-loads after Uwazouri.TopMining when present)
Similar mods may also work if they use the same native method and drop-position pattern; other drop systems are not covered.
Install
Place OreDropsOnMe.dll in BepInEx/plugins/OreDropsOnMe. Keep the original TopMining DLL installed normally.

Install & use Install: BepInEx plugin
- The archive from playbuff is the mod itself — usually a BepInEx plugin (a .dll or a plugin folder once unzipped).
- Recommended: use a community mod manager (such as r2modman) — pick this game, import the mod, and the manager sets up BepInEx and its dependencies for you.
- Manual route: install the BepInEx loader in the game folder, then drop the unzipped .dll or plugin folder into BepInEx/plugins/.
- Launch the game — the BepInEx console logs every plugin it loads; seeing this mod in the log means it is installed.
Mods with listed dependencies need those installed too, or they will not load. Options are usually changed in-game or in the plugin's config file. In multiplayer, the host and every client need the same mods installed.
Install these first, or the mod will not work:
