About Bear

Bear adds three tameable, rideable bears (Brown, Black and Polar) that you can breed, plus bear food, a shield, capes and four tiers of Bear armor.

You use this mod at your own risk, so back up your character and world first.

News & Important info.

⚠️ Armor values were rebalanced by tier. On existing servers/installs, delete the old armor entries in the.cfg (or the whole.cfg) so the new values are generated.

Please check the.cfg file before using it on a server.

Custom animals - Bears

Short info.

• Brown Bear spawns in the Black Forest and Mountains.
• Black Bear spawns in the Meadows.
• Polar Bear spawns in the Mountains.
• All bears are rare, can be tamed with Honey and can be ridden with a Bear Saddle.
• Tamed bears can breed. Cubs grow into adult bears (20 minutes by default).
• All of the above is configurable!

Installation (how-to)

• Install BepInEx
• Place the files in your /BepInEx/plugins/ folder.

Configuration

The configuration file is generated on first launch once OdinBear.dll is installed in the /plugins/ folder.

The mod supports custom localization. Copy OdinBear.English.yml, rename it to your language (e.g. OdinBear.German.yml) and translate the text inside. A basic editor like Notepad or Notepad++ is enough.

The mod has Server-Sync, so admins control the settings with the server config (lock it with Lock Configuration). You can change settings like:

for Bear, Black Bear, Polar Bear: Health, running speed and riding stamina

for Bear Cub, Black Bear Cub, Polar Bear Cub: Health and grow-up time

for each creature: Spawn conditions, taming and drops

for Items and Food: Crafting station, recipes and item stats
