NowYouSleep
Allows night to pass when at least one player is sleeping.
About this mod Author’s original text
NowYouSleep
Similar to Enshrouded's sleep mechanic, NowYouSleep allows night to pass when at least one player is sleeping in Valheim multiplayer.
In vanilla multiplayer, every player must sleep before the night can be skipped.
NowYouSleep changes that behavior so a single sleeping player can trigger Valheim's normal sleep-to-morning transition.
Features
- Allows night to pass when at least one player is in bed
- Works in single player, peer-hosted multiplayer, and dedicated servers
- Uses Valheim's built-in sleep and morning skip system
- Server-authoritative multiplayer behavior
- Only the host/server needs the mod installed
- Configurable enable/disable setting
- Optional debug logging
Multiplayer
NowYouSleep is designed to be server-authoritative.
This means the sleep check only runs on the world host or dedicated server.
Installing the mod on a regular client does nothing by itself.
Installation Requirements
| Environment | Install Required |
|---|---|
| Single Player | Player |
| Peer-Hosted Multiplayer | Host |
| Dedicated Server | Dedicated Server |
| Regular Clients | Not Required |
Compatibility Examples
| Scenario | Result |
|---|---|
| Host has mod, clients do not | Works |
| Dedicated server has mod, clients do not | Works |
| Client has mod, host/server does not | Does not work |
In-Game Behavior
When the host or dedicated server has NowYouSleep installed:
- Any connected player can enter a bed
- The server detects at least one sleeping player
- All connected players enter the normal sleep transition
- Night passes normally using Valheim's built-in morning skip system
This mod does not create a custom sleep system or force custom RPC behavior.
It simply changes the vanilla sleep requirement from:
Everyone must be sleeping
to:
At least one player must be sleeping

Install & use Install: BepInEx plugin
- The archive from playbuff is the mod itself — usually a BepInEx plugin (a .dll or a plugin folder once unzipped).
- Recommended: use a community mod manager (such as r2modman) — pick this game, import the mod, and the manager sets up BepInEx and its dependencies for you.
- Manual route: install the BepInEx loader in the game folder, then drop the unzipped .dll or plugin folder into BepInEx/plugins/.
- Launch the game — the BepInEx console logs every plugin it loads; seeing this mod in the log means it is installed.
Mods with listed dependencies need those installed too, or they will not load. Options are usually changed in-game or in the plugin's config file. In multiplayer, the host and every client need the same mods installed.
Install these first, or the mod will not work:
