NotYourLoot
Discovery-based crafting progression for Warfare, Wizardry and Armory, with Epic Loot patches, ValheimPlus chest integration and optional mod compatibility.
About this mod Author’s original text
NotYourLoot
NotYourLoot is a progression and compatibility layer built around Therzie's Warfare, Wizardry and Armory, Epic Loot, and a collection of optional mod integrations.
It was originally created for a private Valheim modpack/server and is intentionally tailored to that progression setup. Compatibility with substantially different mod configurations or future dependency versions is not guaranteed.
How it works
Warfare & Wizardry
Equipment recipes from Warfare and Wizardry are initially hidden.
When a character discovers an eligible item by obtaining it, the corresponding original crafting recipe is permanently unlocked for that character.
This applies to supported equipment types including weapons, bows, shields, armor, capes, tools, utility items and trinkets.
NotYourLoot does not replace Therzie's recipes. Once unlocked, the item still uses its original crafting station, material costs, upgrades and other requirements.
Armory
Armory equipment uses set/tier discovery.
Discovering one armor piece unlocks the recipes for the other pieces belonging to that exact armor set and tier. Standalone and special Armory equipment uses exact-item discovery.
Character progression
Discovery is stored using Valheim's existing per-character known-item progression. Previously discovered equipment therefore remains unlocked for that character after restarting the game.
Epic Loot integration
NotYourLoot extends Epic Loot with additional crafting, resource-cost and compatibility behavior.
ValheimPlus Craft From Chests
When ValheimPlus Craft From Chests is available, nearby chests can contribute resource costs to supported Epic Loot operations.
NotYourLoot also extends ValheimPlus nearby-container discovery so compatible modded storage pieces that ValheimPlus would otherwise miss can participate in Craft From Chests. Valid containers still respect normal range, inventory, access, ward and player-placement checks.
Supported material-cost paths include:
- enchanting;
- augmenting;
- identification;
- material conversions;
- Enchanting Table upgrades;
- supported runestone and socket-related crafting, upgrading and conversion costs.
The item being operated on remains a player-inventory item. Nearby chests are used only to provide applicable material costs and are not used as the source of selected equipment, runestones or other directly operated-on items.
Supported Epic Loot cost displays show resources as available/required.
For example: 24/2
NotYourLoot also caches nearby-chest resource queries to reduce the performance impact of Epic Loot interfaces that repeatedly evaluate large numbers of material recipes, particularly the material-conversion menu.
Adventure Backpacks
When Adventure Backpacks is installed, NotYourLoot adds the configured stored-item weight reduction to backpack item tooltips.
Example: Items inside weigh 50% less
The displayed percentage is read from the backpack's configured weight multiplier rather than being hardcoded.
Adventure Backpacks is optional. NotYourLoot continues to function normally when it is not installed.
Optional compatibility integrations
NotYourLoot includes optional audio, visual and UI compatibility handling for several supported mods.
EpicMMO
NotYourLoot scans EpicMMO audio-bearing assets and scales their AudioSource volumes without changing Valheim's global audio settings.
EpicMMO's wing-based level-up visuals and associated level-up audio are suppressed.
XP-orb consumption preserves the MMO_XP status effect and XP behavior while:
- suppressing the Forsaken-style fx_GP_Activation effect;
- suppressing the original sfx_Potion_stamina_Start consume sound;
- replacing it with the bundled Bonus.wav.
Default multiplier: 0.50.
CaptainSkillTree
NotYourLoot normalizes supported CaptainSkillTree SFX/VFX audio paths.
CaptainSkillTree integrations include:
- quest-complete audio replaced by the bundled QuestComplete.wav;
- Hero Awakens level-up audio replaced by the bundled LockCh
Install & use Install: BepInEx plugin
- The archive from playbuff is the mod itself — usually a BepInEx plugin (a .dll or a plugin folder once unzipped).
- Recommended: use a community mod manager (such as r2modman) — pick this game, import the mod, and the manager sets up BepInEx and its dependencies for you.
- Manual route: install the BepInEx loader in the game folder, then drop the unzipped .dll or plugin folder into BepInEx/plugins/.
- Launch the game — the BepInEx console logs every plugin it loads; seeing this mod in the log means it is installed.
Mods with listed dependencies need those installed too, or they will not load. Options are usually changed in-game or in the plugin's config file. In multiplayer, the host and every client need the same mods installed.
Install these first, or the mod will not work:
