NoMovementPenalty
A Valheim mod that disables all movement speed penalties caused by equipment.
Movement speed buffs are preserved — only modifiers below zero are removed. Fenris gear, Epic
Loot movement-speed enchants and the like are left exactly alone.
Compatible with Valheim 1.0. Versions 1.0.4 and earlier load on Valheim 1.0 but silently do
nothing — see the changelog for why.

The old GitHub repository is no longer maintained — GitLab is the source of truth.

Mod running w/no armor movement speed buffs (any item less than 0 is set to 0)

Troubleshooting
The mod says what it is doing in BepInEx/LogOutput.log:
[Info: NoMovementPenalty] v1.0.8 patched Player.UpdateModifiers,...
[Info: NoMovementPenalty] neutralised chest 'Iron armor' (-0.05 -> 0)
If the game ever changes underneath it, the mod refuses to patch and logs the exact method or field
it could not resolve, rather than loading silently and doing nothing.
Config toggles (all enabled by default)
zeroPenaltyOnItem controls how the penalty is removed. Leave it true unless another mod
reports strange movement numbers:
- true — the penalty is zeroed on the equipped item, so its tooltip reads +0% and the per-slot
toggles below apply.
- false — items are left untouched and only the player's total is clamped. This is exactly how
v1.0.6/v1.0.7 behaved. The per-slot toggles do nothing in this mode.
The penalty is removed either way.

Changelog
- 1.0.8 Valheim 1.0 support. Versions up to 1.0.4 loaded on Valheim 1.0 but had no effect: the patch injected the private field m_equipmentModifierValues as a float, when it is a float, and newer HarmonyX rejects that mismatch outright. Also adds the trinket slot, which the game counts and this mod never did; restores the +0% movement line in item tooltips; makes the per-slot toggles work again (v1.0.6/v1.0.7 bound them but never used them); adds a zeroPenaltyOnItem switch to fall back to v1.0.7 behaviour; and logs what it patches and neutralises, refusing to patch at all if the game no longer matches, instead of failing silently.
- 1.0.7 Fixed packaging: the release zip now places package files (manifest.json, README.md, icon.png, plugins) at the zip ROOT instead of inside a version-named folder, which requires.
- 1.0.6 Fixe
Install & use Install: BepInEx plugin
- The archive from playbuff is the mod itself — usually a BepInEx plugin (a .dll or a plugin folder once unzipped).
- Recommended: use a community mod manager (such as r2modman) — pick this game, import the mod, and the manager sets up BepInEx and its dependencies for you.
- Manual route: install the BepInEx loader in the game folder, then drop the unzipped .dll or plugin folder into BepInEx/plugins/.
- Launch the game — the BepInEx console logs every plugin it loads; seeing this mod in the log means it is installed.
Mods with listed dependencies need those installed too, or they will not load. Options are usually changed in-game or in the plugin's config file. In multiplayer, the host and every client need the same mods installed.
Install these first, or the mod will not work:
