About this mod Author’s original text
NoMeadGlow
Removes the glowing character VFX (particles/light) that plays while a mead
or potion buff is active — Healing Mead, Stamina Mead, Eitr Mead, Love
Potion, Berserkir Mead, Anti-Sting Concoction, Draught of Vananidir, Tonic
of Ratatosk, Mead of Troll Endurance, Brew of Animal Whispers, and Lightfoot
Mead.
The drinking sound and the drinking animation are not affected — only
the glow/particle effect is removed. Other status effects (staff powers,
boss buffs, etc.) are left completely untouched.
Why
Some mead VFX are bright enough to be distracting during exploration,
screenshots, or building. This mod strips just the glow, nothing else.
Compatibility
- Client-side only. No configuration needed — the mod just works after
installing it.
- Should be safe to use on servers where other players don't have it
installed, since it only affects what renders on your own client.
Installation
Install via a mod manager (r2modman Mod Manager), or manually
by dropping the DLL into your BepInEx/plugins folder.
Source
The mod uses Harmony to patch EffectList.Create and temporarily strip
visual-only prefabs (particle systems / lights) while a known mead/potion
status effect is starting, updating, or stopping. Non-visual prefabs
(sounds) are left in the list, so drinking still sounds and looks (via
animation) the same.

Install & use Install: BepInEx plugin
- The archive from playbuff is the mod itself — usually a BepInEx plugin (a .dll or a plugin folder once unzipped).
- Recommended: use a community mod manager (such as r2modman) — pick this game, import the mod, and the manager sets up BepInEx and its dependencies for you.
- Manual route: install the BepInEx loader in the game folder, then drop the unzipped .dll or plugin folder into BepInEx/plugins/.
- Launch the game — the BepInEx console logs every plugin it loads; seeing this mod in the log means it is installed.
Mods with listed dependencies need those installed too, or they will not load. Options are usually changed in-game or in the plugin's config file. In multiplayer, the host and every client need the same mods installed.
Install these first, or the mod will not work:
