About this mod Author’s original text

Newheim

Newheim is a curated Valheim modpack built to expand the vanilla

experience with deeper progression, more dangerous encounters, new

equipment, improved building, exploration upgrades, visual enhancements,

and quality-of-life features.

The goal is to make Valheim feel fresh and more rewarding while keeping

its survival, exploration, and progression at the heart of the

experience.

Features

⚔️ Expanded Combat & Progression

New weapons, combat mechanics, skills, loot systems, bosses, creatures,

and progression options make character building and exploration more

meaningful.

Highlights include Epic Loot, Weapon Arts, Warfare,

Wizardry, Extended Bosses, Elite Creatures, and Path of

Valheiman.

🐉 A More Dangerous World

Newheim expands the threats waiting beyond your walls with stronger

enemies, elite creatures, additional bosses, and new world encounters.

Prepare before venturing into unfamiliar territory.

🛡️ More Equipment & Customization

Discover additional weapons, armor, capes, magical equipment, trophies,

and character customization systems.

Build a character around your preferred playstyle instead of following a

single progression path.

🏰 Building & World Improvements

Expanded building tools and pieces give you more freedom when creating

settlements, fortresses, roads, and custom environments.

The pack includes tools such as OdinArchitect, Infinity Hammer,

World Edit Commands, Plant Everything, and terrain/building

improvements.

🌲 Enhanced Exploration

Map improvements, portal enhancements, seasonal systems, improved

vegetation, particles, textures, fog options, and visual upgrades make

exploration more varied and atmospheric.

🎒 Quality of Life

Newheim includes numerous improvements intended to reduce unnecessary

friction without removing the survival experience.

Features include improved inventory management, extra slots, faster item

transfers, multicrafting, stack improvements, equipment handling,

configurable loot behavior, and other interface enhancements.

✨ Visual Improvements

Visual enhancement mods improve vegetation, particles, rendering,

environmental presentation, and other graphical elements while

preserving Valheim's distinctive art direction.

Installation

The recommended way to install Newheim is through a

-compatible mod manager.

  • Install the modpack through.
  • Allow the mod manager to download all required dependencies.
  • Launch Valheim using the modded profile.
  • For multiplayer, make sure everyone is using the same Newheim

version and compatible configuration.

Important: Avoid manually replacing or updating individual

dependencies unless you know they are compatible with the current

Newheim release. Specific versions are included to keep the pack

stable and reproducible.

Multiplayer

Newheim is intended to support multiplayer, but modded Valheim works

best when all players use the same modpack release.

For the smoothest experience:

  • Use the same Newheim version on every client.
  • Keep required server-side mods synchronized.
  • Avoid independently updating dependencies.
  • Back up important worlds before major modpack updates.

Updating

When a new version of Newheim is released, update the modpack itself

through your mod manager rather than individually updating every

dependency.

Major updates may change configurations, progression, world generation,

creatures, or other gameplay systems. Backing up your world and

character files before significant updates is strongly recommended.

Troubleshooting

If you experience problems after installation:

  • Confirm that all dependencies installed successfully.
  • Make sure you are launching the correct modded profile.
  • Check that every multiplayer client is using the same Newheim

version.

  • Avoid mixing Newheim with additional mods until you have confirmed

the base pack works correctly.

  • If necessary, create a clean profile and reinstall Newheim.

Install & use Install: BepInEx plugin

  1. The archive from playbuff is the mod itself — usually a BepInEx plugin (a .dll or a plugin folder once unzipped).
  2. Recommended: use a community mod manager (such as r2modman) — pick this game, import the mod, and the manager sets up BepInEx and its dependencies for you.
  3. Manual route: install the BepInEx loader in the game folder, then drop the unzipped .dll or plugin folder into BepInEx/plugins/.
  4. Launch the game — the BepInEx console logs every plugin it loads; seeing this mod in the log means it is installed.

Mods with listed dependencies need those installed too, or they will not load. Options are usually changed in-game or in the plugin's config file. In multiplayer, the host and every client need the same mods installed.
