MotikofusUI
A custom user interface mod for Valheim, originally created for personal use and now shared with the community.
About
I'm developing this mod primarily to improve my C# and Unity skills. Because of this, I might not always be able to implement highly "experimental" or complex features right away, but I'm learning as I go!
Note: The configuration cannot be edited directly in-game or via a mod manager UI yet, as I don't know how to implement that yet. If any experienced mod developers are passing by and want to share tips or collaborate on this, I'd be very interested!
Features
- Toggleable: Can be easily enabled or disabled from the configuration file.
- Status Effects Relocation: Moves the status effect icons to the right side of the screen, right below the minimap.
- Inventory Trash Can: Adds a drag-and-drop trash can directly inside the inventory to quickly discard items.
- Armor HUD with Durability: Displays an armor HUD showing real-time item durability. Fully positionable via the configuration file generated on first launch.
Future Plans & Feedback
More features and ideas will be added over time as I work on the mod. If you have any suggestions, ideas, or feedback to improve or modify existing features, feel free to reach out and share them!
Installation
- Install BepInExPack Valheim.
- Extract the contents into your Valheim/BepInEx/plugins/ folder (or use a mod manager like r2modman).
Install & use Install: BepInEx plugin
- The archive from playbuff is the mod itself — usually a BepInEx plugin (a .dll or a plugin folder once unzipped).
- Recommended: use a community mod manager (such as r2modman) — pick this game, import the mod, and the manager sets up BepInEx and its dependencies for you.
- Manual route: install the BepInEx loader in the game folder, then drop the unzipped .dll or plugin folder into BepInEx/plugins/.
- Launch the game — the BepInEx console logs every plugin it loads; seeing this mod in the log means it is installed.
Mods with listed dependencies need those installed too, or they will not load. Options are usually changed in-game or in the plugin's config file. In multiplayer, the host and every client need the same mods installed.
Install these first, or the mod will not work:
