About this mod Author’s original text
This is an unofficial update of probablykory's MoreJewelry
(GitHub), rebuilt to work with
Valheim 1.0 and Jewelcrafting 2.0.10+. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by the original author.
Please do not report issues with this build to probablykory — use this package's own support
channels instead.
A highly configurable mod for Valheim which adds several new jewelry models for Jewelcrafting.
Requirements
- BepInExPack_Valheim 5.4.2351
- Jewelcrafting 2.0.10 or later, from Hexium:
- The Smoothbrain-Jewelcrafting package is a deprecated, pre-1.0 build stuck at
version 2.0.1 — it will not work with this update. You must install Jewelcrafting 2.0.10+ from
Hexium instead.
- Recent versions of Gale can install mods from Hexium as well as, so this does not
require a separate mod manager.
Tested with Valheim 1.0.17, BepInExPack_Valheim 5.4.2351, and Jewelcrafting 2.0.11 — no MoreJewelry
errors observed in that environment.
Installation
- If you have the original probablykory-MoreJewelry installed, disable or remove it first — both
builds share the same plugin ID (probablykory.MoreJewelry), so only one of them will actually load.
- Your existing config file and any custom YAML jewelry definitions carry over as-is; nothing needs to
be redone.
- If you play with others, make sure everyone is running the same version of both this mod and
Jewelcrafting — both mods include their own version-check/sync systems that will warn on mismatch.
_NOTE:_ If you are upgrading from a much older MoreJewelry version, consider deleting your config
file and letting the plugin regenerate it — old configs can occasionally be incompatible with newer
settings.
Features
New early-game rings & necks, as well as a couple of late-game jewelry options.
YAML-based configuration, allowing you to detail exactly what your rings and necks should look like and
behave. A new Perception effect — a customizable version of Guidance/Legacy — helps you find your way to
any location without a map.
Default items
| Item | Material | Effect |
|---|---|---|
| Stone ring | 10 Stone, 1 Amber | +4 woodcutting skill level |
| Bone ring | 12 Bone Fragments, 1 Advanced Red Socket | +25 max carry weight |
| Leather cord | 8 Leather Scraps, 1 Deer Hide, 1 Advanced Green Socket | Lumberjack |
| Humite Ring of Perception | 1 Chain, 1 Perfect Orange Socket | Perception |
| Silver band | 8 Silver, 2 Wolf Pelt, 2 Wolf Hair Bundle, 1 Perfect Black Socket | Aquatic (bonus damage while wet) |
| Polished silver necklace | 1 Silver Necklace, 8 Silver, 4 Wolf Pelt, 1 Perfect Blue Socket | "Lightfooted" — custom status effect (+5% move speed, -5% run stamina drain) |
All of the above are defined in the bundled default YAML and can be freely edited, replaced, or removed
(see YAML customization below).
Reusable effects
Jewelry effects can reference any of Jewelcrafting's own trinket gem effects by name, plus the effects
this mod adds:
- aquatic, awareness, guidance, headhunter, legacy, lumberjack, magicRepair,
modersBlessing, rigidFinger, warmth — built-in Jewelcrafting effects (case-insensitive name match)
- perception — this mod's configurable Guidance/Legacy-style effect (see below)
- Fully custom status effects defined inline in YAML (stat modifiers, damage resistances, skill level
boosts, etc. — see the "Everything Ring" example in the bundled default YAML for the full list of
available properties)
Perception effect
A homing-beacon-style effect that nudges the wearer toward one of a configured list of locations.
Configurable in the plugin settings:
- Perception Locations — colon-separated list of valid Valheim location names to lead the wearer
toward (default: Vendor_BlackForest:Hildir_camp)
- Perception Cooldown — how often, in seconds, the effect checks/triggers (default: 30)
- Perception Minimum Distance — how close the wearer must be to a location before the effect
triggers (default:
Install & use Install: BepInEx plugin
- The archive from playbuff is the mod itself — usually a BepInEx plugin (a .dll or a plugin folder once unzipped).
- Recommended: use a community mod manager (such as r2modman) — pick this game, import the mod, and the manager sets up BepInEx and its dependencies for you.
- Manual route: install the BepInEx loader in the game folder, then drop the unzipped .dll or plugin folder into BepInEx/plugins/.
- Launch the game — the BepInEx console logs every plugin it loads; seeing this mod in the log means it is installed.
Mods with listed dependencies need those installed too, or they will not load. Options are usually changed in-game or in the plugin's config file. In multiplayer, the host and every client need the same mods installed.
Install these first, or the mod will not work:
