More Alt Biomes
Granularly configure the spawn chance and max placement amounts for all 32+ Valheim 1.0 AltBiomes!
Valheim 1.0 introduced "Alt Biomes" - over 30 procedural variations of existing biomes (like "Dark Meadows", "Rock Black Forest", and "Trees Mistlands") that alter vegetation, props, and spawns. This mod exposes all of them so you can drastically multiply their spawn rates across your world!
Features
- Granular Control: Configure the Chance Multiplier and Max Amount Multiplier for every single one of the 32 vanilla AltBiomes individually, or use the Global sliders to multiply them all at once.
- Pre-Baked Vanilla List: The 32 vanilla variations are hardcoded in, so they appear in your config menu immediately upon installation.
- Dynamic Mod Support: If you install other mods that add custom AltBiomes, this mod will automatically discover them when you load into a world, save them to your.cfg file, and show them in your config menu forever!
- Safe Multipliers: Safely injects the multipliers during world generation and restores vanilla parameters immediately after, preventing multiplicative compounding across multiple generations.
- Success Logging: Loudly logs exactly how many zones of each AltBiome were successfully injected into your map in the BepInEx console so you can see your multipliers working in real-time.

FAQ: Custom Biomes & Mod Authors
Because More Alt Biomes dynamically reads the Valheim ZoneSystem prefab when a world loads, it natively supports custom AltBiomes added by other mods!
For Users (The "Dummy World" Trick):
If you install a mod that adds a new AltBiome, More Alt Biomes won't know its name until the game loads it into memory.
- Load into any world.
- The game will unpack the mod's new biomes.
- More Alt Biomes will instantly detect them and permanently save them to your com.loathe.MoreAltBiomes.cfg file.
- From then on, they will always appear at the Main Menu for you to configure!
For Mod Authors:
If you are building a custom biome mod and want your AltBiome to appear in our ConfigurationManager menu immediately at the Main Menu (without the user having to load a dummy world first), you can proactively inject it!
Simply write to our BepInEx config file early in your plugin's Awake phase, or ensure your AltBiome is injected into AltBiomeList.m_alts before FejdStartup completes. If you manually create a BepInEx config entry in com.loathe.MoreAltBiomes.cfg that ends with Chance Multiplier (e.g. MyCustomBiome Chance Multiplier), our text parser will automatically pick it up and build a slider for it!
Install & use Install: BepInEx plugin
- The archive from playbuff is the mod itself — usually a BepInEx plugin (a .dll or a plugin folder once unzipped).
- Recommended: use a community mod manager (such as r2modman) — pick this game, import the mod, and the manager sets up BepInEx and its dependencies for you.
- Manual route: install the BepInEx loader in the game folder, then drop the unzipped .dll or plugin folder into BepInEx/plugins/.
- Launch the game — the BepInEx console logs every plugin it loads; seeing this mod in the log means it is installed.
Mods with listed dependencies need those installed too, or they will not load. Options are usually changed in-game or in the plugin's config file. In multiplayer, the host and every client need the same mods installed.
