Mod Menu
Adds a Mods button to Valheim's main menu.
- Switch mods on and off with a checkbox. Nothing is renamed or moved, so Vortex, r2modman and installs stay intact: a small BepInEx patcher (BepInEx/patchers/ModMenu) simply does not load the mods you switched off. Changes apply after a restart; the Restart game button does it for you.
- Edit every mod's settings in a proper window: toggles, dropdowns, sliders and text fields, saved at once, with a Default button per setting. Every config file a mod uses is found, big mods get foldable sections and a search box, and the usual ConfigurationManager tags are honoured.
- Profiles: save which mods are off (e.g. "co-op" and "solo") and switch between them in one click.
- Update check against (mods installed through Vortex) and. No account or API key needed. Nothing is downloaded; the Page button opens the mod's page.
Ctrl+M opens the menu too (config General/OpenKey), handy when another mod reworks the main menu.
Mod Menu and Jotunn cannot be switched off from the menu (you would lose the menu). Client-side only: other players and the server do not need it.
If the game does not start after switching a mod off, delete BepInEx/config/ModMenu/disabled.txt and every mod loads again.
Source code and issues:
Install & use Install: BepInEx plugin
- The archive from playbuff is the mod itself — usually a BepInEx plugin (a .dll or a plugin folder once unzipped).
- Recommended: use a community mod manager (such as r2modman) — pick this game, import the mod, and the manager sets up BepInEx and its dependencies for you.
- Manual route: install the BepInEx loader in the game folder, then drop the unzipped .dll or plugin folder into BepInEx/plugins/.
- Launch the game — the BepInEx console logs every plugin it loads; seeing this mod in the log means it is installed.
Mods with listed dependencies need those installed too, or they will not load. Options are usually changed in-game or in the plugin's config file. In multiplayer, the host and every client need the same mods installed.
Install these first, or the mod will not work:
