Manual Station Pull

Manual Station Pull lets you manually load Valheim production stations from nearby accessible containers without turning them into automatic refuelers.

It is designed for players who like nearby-container crafting, but still want to decide when a furnace is filled and which ore it receives.

Features

  • Pulls smelter/furnace inputs from nearby accessible containers when you use the station.
  • Remembers the selected material per furnace.
  • Dedicated selector shortcut: Left Alt + F1 by default.
  • Normal Valheim Use never opens the selector.
  • If only one compatible material is available and nothing has been selected yet, it can be selected automatically.
  • If the selected ore runs out, the mod does not silently switch to another ore.
  • Charcoal kilns pull exact vanilla Wood only.
  • FineWood, RoundLog, YggdrasilWood and modded wood types are deliberately ignored by the kiln feature.
  • Uses each station's own Smelter.m_conversion list, so compatible modded smelters can expose their accepted materials automatically.
  • Respects normal container access checks, wards, containers currently in use and MUC_Ignore.
  • Per-player/per-world selection persistence using the furnace ZDO identity.
  • Lightweight Unity UI using Canvas / UnityEngine.UI, scaled against the current resolution.
  • No automatic refill loop.

Usage

  • Store compatible ores/materials in containers near the furnace.
  • Aim at the furnace input.
  • Press Left Alt + F1 to open the selector.
  • Pick the material you want.
  • Use the furnace normally with Valheim's configured Use key.
  • Each manual interaction pulls one selected material from your inventory or a nearby accessible container.
  • Use Left Alt + F1 again when you want to change material.

The selector shortcut is configurable.

Charcoal kiln

The charcoal kiln is intentionally simpler.

Manual Station Pull only accepts the exact vanilla prefab:

Wood

These are ignored by the remote-pull feature:

  • FineWood
  • RoundLog
  • YggdrasilWood
  • other/modded wood types

No selector is shown for the kiln.

Language

The mod UI follows this strict rule:

  • Valheim language French → Manual Station Pull UI is French.
  • Any other Valheim language → Manual Station Pull UI is English.

Vanilla item names continue to use Valheim's own item localization.

Client / server

Manual Station Pull is a client-side mod.

  • Install it on each player who wants the feature.
  • It is not required on the dedicated server.
  • Players without the mod continue to use stations normally.

The mod uses Valheim's normal networked station/container state rather than adding a custom server protocol.

Compatibility

RunicCrafting

RunicCrafting is not required.

When both are installed, Manual Station Pull focuses on the station-input workflow that motivated this mod: manually choosing and loading smelter inputs from nearby storage. It does not add an automatic refuel loop and does not replace RunicCrafting's normal nearby crafting/building systems.

SimpleAccessControl

Container eligibility uses Valheim's normal Container.CheckAccess(long) path, so access-control mods that patch that method can continue to participate in the decision.

MultiUserChest

Containers marked MUC_Ignore are ignored when RespectMultiUserChestIgnore = true.

Install & use Install: BepInEx plugin

  1. The archive from playbuff is the mod itself — usually a BepInEx plugin (a .dll or a plugin folder once unzipped).
  2. Recommended: use a community mod manager (such as r2modman) — pick this game, import the mod, and the manager sets up BepInEx and its dependencies for you.
  3. Manual route: install the BepInEx loader in the game folder, then drop the unzipped .dll or plugin folder into BepInEx/plugins/.
  4. Launch the game — the BepInEx console logs every plugin it loads; seeing this mod in the log means it is installed.

Mods with listed dependencies need those installed too, or they will not load. Options are usually changed in-game or in the plugin's config file. In multiplayer, the host and every client need the same mods installed.
