About this mod Author’s original text

Magic Storage Valheim

Magic Storage adds a central storage network to Valheim. Put items into one shared system, search them from one place, craft using stored materials, expand the network with Storage Units, and later access it wirelessly.

This guide is intentionally spoiler-light. It explains how every Magic Storage item works without naming later bosses, biomes, or late-game progression steps.

Quick Start

  • Build a Storage Core.
  • Build one or more Storage Units near the Core.
  • Look at the Core and press G to open Magic Storage.
  • Deposit items into the network.
  • Use the Crafting tab to craft with materials stored in Magic Storage.
  • As you progress, upgrade Storage Units for more capacity and make the Wireless Storage Remote for remote access.
  • Make the Magic Storage Hammer to build normal structures using materials from your inventory and linked Magic Storage network together.

Storage Core

The Storage Core is the heart of a Magic Storage network. Storage Units near it become part of the same shared inventory.

How to make it

  • 20 Fine Wood
  • 5 Rubies
  • 1 early-progression trophy

The trophy's identity is deliberately omitted here to avoid spoilers. Valheim will show the exact ingredient naturally once you have discovered it.

How to use it

Look at the Core from normal interaction distance and press G. The Magic Storage window opens together with your player inventory.

The Core itself is the network controller; most of the actual item capacity comes from connected Storage Units.

Main tabs

Storage — Browse, search, filter, deposit, and withdraw items from the entire connected network.

Crafting — Craft using materials in Magic Storage. Nearby crafting stations and their real upgrade levels are respected, so Magic Storage does not bypass normal crafting progression.

Upgrade — Upgrade eligible equipment using the normal upgrade rules while allowing required materials to come from your inventory and Magic Storage.

Range button

The Core has a range display. Toggle it to show the area used by the storage network so you can see where connected Storage Units belong.

Storage Unit

A Storage Unit adds capacity to its nearby Storage Core.

How to make it

  • 20 Wood

Build it within the Core's network area. You do not need to open each Unit individually; its contents are managed through the Storage Core interface.

Upgrading Storage Units

Storage Units can be upgraded in place as you progress. Interact with a Storage Unit and it will show the next available tier and the materials required.

The guide intentionally does not list every future tier or material so later progression remains a discovery. Upgrading increases the Unit's storage capacity and changes its appearance. Your stored items remain in the network.

Wireless Storage Remote

The Wireless Storage Remote lets you access a linked Storage Core without standing beside it, as long as the Core is within the Remote's current range.

How to make it

At a Workbench:

  • 10 Fine Wood
  • 2 Surtling Cores
  • 5 Greydwarf Eyes
  • 1 Bronze

Link the Remote

Look at the Storage Core you want to link, then use Shift + Use on the Remote.

Once linked, carrying the Remote allows G to open that Magic Storage network when you are within its current wireless range.

Upgrade its range

Use Ctrl + Use on the Remote. When you have reached the appropriate point in normal Valheim progression and carry the required trophy, the Remote can consume it to increase its wireless range.

The Remote tells you what the next upgrade needs. This guide does not name the later trophies or ranges so it does not reveal future bosses or progression.

Magic Storage Hammer

The Magic Storage Hammer is a separate building hammer. It does not replace or modify Valheim's normal Hammer.

When you carry a linked Wireless Storage Remote and use the Magic Storage Hammer, normal build pieces can count materials from:

your inventory + your linked Magic Storage network

Your inventory is used first. Magic Storage sup

Install & use Install: BepInEx plugin

  1. The archive from playbuff is the mod itself — usually a BepInEx plugin (a .dll or a plugin folder once unzipped).
  2. Recommended: use a community mod manager (such as r2modman) — pick this game, import the mod, and the manager sets up BepInEx and its dependencies for you.
  3. Manual route: install the BepInEx loader in the game folder, then drop the unzipped .dll or plugin folder into BepInEx/plugins/.
  4. Launch the game — the BepInEx console logs every plugin it loads; seeing this mod in the log means it is installed.

Mods with listed dependencies need those installed too, or they will not load. Options are usually changed in-game or in the plugin's config file. In multiplayer, the host and every client need the same mods installed.

Dependencies

Install these first, or the mod will not work:
