LockableDoors
Lock doors, gates and hatches in Valheim with keys. Only players carrying the right key
can open a locked door — keep raiders and nosy vikings out of your base.
How it works
- Create a lockable door: hold the lock modifier (default Left Ctrl) while placing
a door — its key(s) drop at your feet (DuplicateKeysOnCreate sets how many).
- Lock / unlock: hold Left Ctrl and interact with the door while carrying its key.
- Rename: hold the rename modifier (default Left Alt) and interact while carrying
its key — door and key names update everywhere.
- Craft blank keys: forge, default cost 1 Bronze (recipe/station configurable).
- Copy a key: hold the copy modifier (default B) and interact with a locked door
while carrying its key — a blank key in your inventory becomes a bound copy to share
with clanmates.
Works in multiplayer and on dedicated servers. Everything is configurable via the BepInEx
config (aedenthorn.LockableDoors.cfg) or an in-game configuration manager.
Installation
Install with r2modman (recommended) — BepInEx is pulled in automatically.
Manual: drop LockableDoors.dll into BepInEx/plugins.

Install & use Install: BepInEx plugin
- The archive from playbuff is the mod itself — usually a BepInEx plugin (a .dll or a plugin folder once unzipped).
- Recommended: use a community mod manager (such as r2modman) — pick this game, import the mod, and the manager sets up BepInEx and its dependencies for you.
- Manual route: install the BepInEx loader in the game folder, then drop the unzipped .dll or plugin folder into BepInEx/plugins/.
- Launch the game — the BepInEx console logs every plugin it loads; seeing this mod in the log means it is installed.
Mods with listed dependencies need those installed too, or they will not load. Options are usually changed in-game or in the plugin's config file. In multiplayer, the host and every client need the same mods installed.
Install these first, or the mod will not work:
