Kvastur Broom

She swept the Swamp long before she ever carried you.

Deep in the Swamp, where the rain never truly stops, the Kvastur sweep the mud for the bog witch. Bring one down, take its trophy to the Galdr Table, and bind it with refined eitr and ectoplasm. The broom wakes up.

Imbued with spirits and magic, she will carry you over forests, seas and mountains. Well, when she feels like it.

A broom, not a horse

She doesn't gallop, she glides. Lean into the wind and she banks through the turns. Pull up and she climbs. Let go and she hangs in the air, breathing with the breeze. Your cloak streams behind you, your hands close on the shaft, and the ground falls away.

She tires like a lox does, and the spell that keeps her aloft feeds on your eitr. Fly far and you'll feel both run thin.

She has a mind of her own

She is not a tool. She is company, and she has opinions.

• Rain makes her happy. It smells like home.
• The Ashlands frighten her. She is straw and wood, after all.
• She won't carry your ore. Some things are not for magic.
• Weigh her down and she'll tell you what she thinks of it.
• Push her too hard and she'll lose her patience. She may refuse you, sulk, or simply leave you in mid-air and walk off. You'll find her later, lying in the grass like any broom.
• Get hit while riding and she won't take it quietly. She dives, leaps off and fights beside you, then lies back down as a broom when it's over.
• Wound her and she'll need time to mend. She mends faster in the mists.

And she talks, in English or in Brazilian Portuguese.

Galdr Table: 10 Refined Eitr, 1 Kvastur Trophy, 5 Ectoplasm.

Dismount in the air and she lowers you gently to the ground. Press again to jump off.

Make her your own

Almost everything about her can be changed: how far she flies, how much eitr she drinks, her health, her temper, her fears. Every trait can be switched off, and every line she says can be rewritten. Prefer an obedient broom? Turn Personality off.

Console: broom_state tells you how she is doing.

Requires BepInExPack and Jötunn. Install it for everyone who plays together. The config is personal and is not synced from the server.

Configuration

Everything lives in BepInEx/config/marce.kvasturbroom.cfg. Every description is written in English and in Brazilian Portuguese.
