Configurable vanilla food stats with added early-game Eitr progression.

About this mod Author’s original text

JGFOOD

JGFOOD is a lightweight Valheim food configuration mod that allows the stats of vanilla food items to be adjusted through a BepInEx configuration file.

The mod automatically detects vanilla food items and provides configurable values for:

  • Health
  • Stamina
  • Eitr

Mod-added foods are ignored to reduce the chance of conflicts with other mods.

Features

  • Configure Health for vanilla foods
  • Configure Stamina for vanilla foods
  • Configure Eitr for vanilla foods
  • Add Eitr to foods that normally provide none
  • Automatically detects vanilla foods
  • Ignores foods added by other mods
  • Does not add new food items or recipes

Default Eitr Changes

JGFOOD adds an early-game Eitr progression to several existing vanilla foods.

| Food | Added Eitr |

| ------------ | ---------: |

| Raspberries | +20 |

| Honey | +25 |

| Blueberries | +35 |

| Deer Stew | +40 |

| Muckshake | +50 |

| Turnip Stew | +55 |

| Onion Soup | +60 |

| Eyescream | +65 |

| Cloudberries | +70 |

| Bread | +75 |

These values are added to the food's existing Eitr value and can be changed through the configuration file.

All other vanilla foods retain their normal Health, Stamina, and Eitr values unless changed by the user.

Configuration

After launching Valheim with JGFOOD installed, the configuration file will be created at:

BepInEx/config/com.jgmods.jgfood.cfg

Each detected vanilla food receives its own section with configurable values for:

Health

Stamina

Eitr

Example:

[Food - Honey]

Health = 8

Stamina = 35

Eitr = 25

Configuration changes take effect after restarting the game. In multiplayer, the server's configuration overrides client values while connected.

Compatibility

JGFOOD only modifies vanilla food prefabs.

Foods added by other mods are intentionally excluded so those mods can control their own food items without JGFOOD overwriting their values.

JGFOOD is required on both the server and all clients in multiplayer.

Multiplayer / Server Sync

JGFOOD must be installed on the server and on all connecting clients.

Food configuration is server-authoritative in multiplayer. The server's Health, Stamina, and Eitr values are synchronized to connected clients and applied automatically.

In single-player, the local JGFOOD configuration controls food values.

Clients connecting to a JGFOOD-enabled server must also have JGFOOD installed.

Requirements

  • BepInExPack for Valheim
  • Jotunn

Installation

Install through a -compatible mod manager, or manually place the JGFOOD DLL and its required dependencies in your Valheim BepInEx installation.

Version

0.1.0

Initial release.

Install & use Install: BepInEx plugin

  1. The archive from playbuff is the mod itself — usually a BepInEx plugin (a .dll or a plugin folder once unzipped).
  2. Recommended: use a community mod manager (such as r2modman) — pick this game, import the mod, and the manager sets up BepInEx and its dependencies for you.
  3. Manual route: install the BepInEx loader in the game folder, then drop the unzipped .dll or plugin folder into BepInEx/plugins/.
  4. Launch the game — the BepInEx console logs every plugin it loads; seeing this mod in the log means it is installed.

Mods with listed dependencies need those installed too, or they will not load. Options are usually changed in-game or in the plugin's config file. In multiplayer, the host and every client need the same mods installed.
