Innangard Server Lag Fix

Multiplayer, AI, pathfinding, storage, and quality-of-life fixes for Innangard 0.1.9.

Installation

  • Install on both the dedicated server and all clients.
  • Requires Innangard 0.1.9.
  • Better Organisation is optional.
  • BetrValheim / ItemDrawers support is optional through my separate drawer bridge.
  • If optional integrations are missing, the remaining fixes continue to work normally.

Uninstallation

  • Be on a newer version than 0.1.9. It won't patch anything and automatically migrates data back/removes its features like it was never there:(
  • Uninstall mod

This mod only targets Innangard 0.1.9 as the mod maker doesn't want to take in outside patches to the main mod/it stays a personal project (understandable)

  • Please don't contact them(yololo) for any issues if you run this and 0.1.9- check if you have mods that perform similar/modify these tasks first ❤️
  • There are 250+ patches in this mod aimed to stabilise behavior/fix issues in coop+dedicated multiplayer

Features

Cooks/Caretakers can make Recipes/Intermediaries

  • Cooks can now use stations and can cook everything you can (set a stock target to have them cook)
  • Caretakers can now use stations and can craft everything you can (set a stock target to have them cook)

Data Conversion/Compacting

  • Heavy settler data is no longer stored on individual settlers. It is now redirected and stored on the frith (data is migrated and tested for you)
  • A rollback option is also available to revert back to innangard 0.1.9, so you don't have to setup guard/farmer assignments/stock/patrol routes again

Pacing system for Settlers

  • Settlers now sprint/jog depending on distance to goal/task. Sitting down/idle tasks let them pick based on distance
  • Pathing now uses a framebudget, so expensive paths don't cause stutters. If a path can't fully generate that tick/frame, it will defer to the next and incrementally finish!

Selectable/Swappable Bed/Favourite Chair for Settlers

  • Ctrl+E on a Settler allows you to pick a bed or favouite chair for them to use!

Never Cut

  • Ctrl+E on a tree in a valid workarea/frith zone allows you to disable lumberjacks from cutting them.
  • "Never Cut" trees cannot take collider damage from other trees either- So they don't play dominoes and your tree falls down.

Craft/Build from Frith Drawers

  • Previously it didn't use the ItemDrawers API, now it does. Now uses resources from drawers that support this API first, before chests.

Stations tab

  • Easily prevent the settlement from using a specific station (smelter, kiln, campfire etc) and it will no longer be seen by the settlement at all! Useful for multiple machines where you only want one running, or you don't want them wasting wood on all the campfires you left out there!

Favourite Foods

  • Settlers now have a favourite food and will look for this first at mealtime. +2 to Morale if eaten. Low level food favourites only!

Networking / Ownership

  • Prevents station reservations from unnecessarily stealing ZDO ownership.
  • Deduplicates repeated StationClaim.Take calls.
  • Reduces unnecessary station lease renewal writes.
  • Coalesces immediate release/re-take cycles on the same station.
  • Preserves ownership acquisition for real inventory/world mutations.
  • Protects player-owned objects from unnecessary dedicated-server JIT ownership takeover.
  • Reduces redundant settler transform, velocity, and animation ZDO writes.
  • Keeps normal Valheim/Innangard settler ownership and simulation selection.
  • Includes client death/respawn safety for ownership and sync patches.

Movement / Pathfinding

  • Tighter intermediate path corners to reduce wall/corner cutting.
  • Body-aware path clearance so planner width better matches the settler's real collider.
  • Live-configurable settler collider and planner radius multipliers.
  • Improved recovery routing around walls, furniture, and narrow areas.
  • Storage interactions prefer reachable positions on the settler's current floor.
  • Tests all available storage in

Install & use Install: BepInEx plugin

  1. The archive from playbuff is the mod itself — usually a BepInEx plugin (a .dll or a plugin folder once unzipped).
  2. Recommended: use a community mod manager (such as r2modman) — pick this game, import the mod, and the manager sets up BepInEx and its dependencies for you.
  3. Manual route: install the BepInEx loader in the game folder, then drop the unzipped .dll or plugin folder into BepInEx/plugins/.
  4. Launch the game — the BepInEx console logs every plugin it loads; seeing this mod in the log means it is installed.

Mods with listed dependencies need those installed too, or they will not load. Options are usually changed in-game or in the plugin's config file. In multiplayer, the host and every client need the same mods installed.

Dependencies

Install these first, or the mod will not work:
