Innangard
Beyond the wall lies chaos. Within it, your people.
Hi, I'm Yololo. Innangard is a one-person project that I build in my evenings and
weekends, and it's free - it always will be. No part of it will ever sit behind a paywall,
whatever happens.
But every hour I put into it is an hour I have to find somewhere. If your villagers have
made you smile, or saved you a few trips to the chests, a coffee's worth on
Patreon goes straight back into the mod: more
crafts, fewer bugs, quicker fixes. It honestly makes the difference between "someday" and
"next week".
And if that's not for you, that's completely fine. Playing it, leaving a comment or sending
a bug report helps more than you'd think. Thank you for being here.
Come and say hello on Discord. Show off your
settlement, ask when something puzzles you, report a bug and see it fixed, and hear what
is coming next before anyone else.
Build a living settlement: recruit villagers, assign them real work, and keep order
inside the walls. Raise a Frithstone, take people in, give each a craft, and the village
keeps working while you are away.
Then join your settlements together. Survey a road between two of them, build it with a
work party beside you, and send caravans down it that arrive whether or not you are there
to watch.
innangardr is Old Norse for "within the enclosure": the ordered world inside the
fence, as opposed to utangardr, the wild beyond.
0.2.0 - a settlement that tidies itself
0.2.1 fixes a hitch about once a minute while a farmer had nothing to plant. Everything
else below is 0.2.0.
Chests say what they are for when you look at them, take a name, and can be set from the
chest window itself - Shift+right-click pins a thing, "Keep what's inside here" keeps the
lot, and green and red frames show what belongs and what will be carried away. Every
item's tooltip says where it belongs. Caretakers put the chests and the floor first, and
their sorting rounds deliver everything they collect.
Residents have spare time and conversations now: they stroll, sit somewhere quiet and stop
to talk to each other instead of standing round the stone. Guards walk their rounds out of
step, and one greydwarf no longer puts the whole village on alert.
Every setting is in game - Esc, then Innangard - and the panel has a Guide tab that
explains the mod one topic at a time.
Everyone on a server needs the same version. Back up your world before updating, as
always.
0.1.0 - the trading system is live
Your settlements can be joined by roads, and caravans can run on them.
Name a settlement, survey a way to another one, and the mod draws a line that keeps off
the water, out of the mountains and off anything too steep to carry a load over. Then you
build it: hoe a path along the line and the stretch turns green, lay it in stone and it
turns pale blue. Muster a work party and two or three of your people walk out with you,
laying whatever you lay where they are standing and clearing the trees, stumps and
boulders in the way. Put a trade chest at each end, fill one, and send a caravan - the
carriers walk the road at the pace the road allows and the goods turn up at the other
end, whether or not you are there to watch. The load goes on their backs - there is no
waggon - and a finished road carries six times what a bare line does.
Nothing is bought or sold: both villages are yours, so what passes between them is
carrying rather than trading.
What comes next. Barter and prices, so a caravan can trade rather than only carry.
Roads between settlements belonging to different players. Sea routes and harbours.
Caravans that can be raided, and guards who go with them to see that they are not.
Bridges, so a river stops being the end of a road. The Miner, once it has been watched
through a full session. And titles below Leader, so a settlement can be shared with
somebody without handing them the whole of it.

Install & use Install: BepInEx plugin
- The archive from playbuff is the mod itself — usually a BepInEx plugin (a .dll or a plugin folder once unzipped).
- Recommended: use a community mod manager (such as r2modman) — pick this game, import the mod, and the manager sets up BepInEx and its dependencies for you.
- Manual route: install the BepInEx loader in the game folder, then drop the unzipped .dll or plugin folder into BepInEx/plugins/.
- Launch the game — the BepInEx console logs every plugin it loads; seeing this mod in the log means it is installed.
Mods with listed dependencies need those installed too, or they will not load. Options are usually changed in-game or in the plugin's config file. In multiplayer, the host and every client need the same mods installed.
Install these first, or the mod will not work:
