BETA RELEASE: This mod is currently in active beta testing! If you encounter any issues, odd behavior, or balance suggestions, please report them on dfgaming.net or our Discord.
Hoardgoblin brings the frantic thrill of Diablo-style Treasure Goblins to the Tenth World of Valheim! A cowardly, nimble goblin burdened by an oversized sack of stolen gold and gems roams across the biomes. Spot him, chase him down, and claim his sparkling hoard before he escapes into the ether!
💎 Features
- 🏃♂️ Frantic Fleeing AI: Spots players from afar and dashes across terrain at blistering sprint speed, weaving around obstacles.
- 🪙 Breadcrumb Coin Trail: Leaves a shiny trail of loose gold coins, amber, and rubies every few seconds as he runs in panic.
- 🌀 Escape Portal: If the chase lasts too long without you finishing him off, the goblin stops to summon a mystical Bifrost escape rift. Damaging or staggering him cancels the cast and forces him to keep running!
- 💰 Jackpot Loot Explosion: Slaying the Hoardgoblin bursts his bag open in a glorious loot explosion—scattering hundreds of coins, precious gems, silver necklaces, and biome-specific ores/materials.
- 🎨 Custom 3D Skinned Mesh & Animations: Fully custom 3D model with 9 animated states including walk, sprint, terrified panic squeals, portal summoning, and defeat collapse.
- ⚙️ Fully Configurable: Adjust spawn rates, health, sprint speed, coin trail frequency, and jackpot payouts in the config file.
🕹️ Console Commands
- spawn_hoardgoblin - Spawns a Hoardgoblin in front of you for instant testing.

Install & use Install: BepInEx plugin
- The archive from playbuff is the mod itself — usually a BepInEx plugin (a .dll or a plugin folder once unzipped).
- Recommended: use a community mod manager (such as r2modman) — pick this game, import the mod, and the manager sets up BepInEx and its dependencies for you.
- Manual route: install the BepInEx loader in the game folder, then drop the unzipped .dll or plugin folder into BepInEx/plugins/.
- Launch the game — the BepInEx console logs every plugin it loads; seeing this mod in the log means it is installed.
Mods with listed dependencies need those installed too, or they will not load. Options are usually changed in-game or in the plugin's config file. In multiplayer, the host and every client need the same mods installed.
Install these first, or the mod will not work:
