Helmgard — Season 1

An open, 60-player PvE RPG server for Valheim 1.0. No application, no interview: install the pack, join, and play.

Helmgard takes vanilla Valheim and pushes it toward an RPG: loot with affixes and legendaries, character levels, gods to serve, a much bigger arsenal, and a world with far more to find.

PvE only; PvP is off. Up to 60 players at once.

PC only. Helmgard runs a mod loader, and that rules out console crossplay — Xbox, PlayStation and

the Game Pass version can't join. Steam PC (and Steam Deck) only.

Built into the server

These run on the server, so they work for everyone with nothing extra to install:

• Chests put things away. Drop an item near your chests and it goes into a chest that already holds that item. Chests keep themselves sorted.
• Smelters and kilns feed themselves from chests within 4 m. Both the fuel and the ore have to be in range, and feeding pauses while someone stands right at the station.
• Chest signs. Every chest gets a sign listing what's inside. Edit the sign to tune that one chest: add ↔️20 to feed stations up to 20 m away, or 🧲0 to stop it pulling in dropped items (handy next to animal pens). Paste the symbols exactly; typed look-alikes don't work.
• Building and farming cost no stamina.
• Tames take commands like wolves, and followers keep up with you, even into dungeons.
• The Wishbone also finds dungeons and vegvisirs.
• Map tables collect the portals, ships, ore and dungeons that players discover nearby.
• Things lost in water float in a crate instead of sinking. Grab it before the next server restart.
• Doors close behind you, and ships stay smooth for whoever is steering.

How to join

• Install r2modman, Gale, or the Mod Manager, then pick Valheim.

(Vortex can't import a Valheim profile — use one of the three above.)

• Install this modpack (Helmgard), which brings every mod at the exact version the server runs.
• Press Start modded.
• Create a new character for Helmgard (see Make a NEW character below).
• Join Helmgard from the server browser, or Join IP 148.116.93.49:2460.

Password: ravens (it's public; it's only there because Valheim requires one to list a server).
