Hearthwife

A homestead wife for your Valheim home — presence, chores, and comfort around a wooden idol.

By blackhearthx. Single-player focused. Follows your game language (EN, PT-BR, DE, FR, ES, and more).

Place one idol → she lives in the circle → cook, gather, repair, keep the fire, rest.

How to use (tutorial)

  • Place the idol

Hammer → Furniture → Wife Idol.

Only one idol per world is allowed.

She appears near the idol. The blue circle is her home area.

  • Controls (look at the idol)

| Key | Action |

| --- | --- |

| E | Open her chest |

| Shift+E | Open the menu |

| Crouch+E | Call her back / unstuck (bring to the idol) |

Looking at her (not the idol): E talks when she is free.

  • Choose a lifestyle (menu → Home)

| Mode | What she does |

| --- | --- |

| Home life | Presence only — stroll, sit, sleep. No chores. |

| Balanced | Works with pauses between tasks. |

| Hardworking | Prioritizes chores; idle only when nothing to do. |

Also on Home: set her name and bed (look at a bed and press E when prompted).

  • Chores (menu → Work)

Turn on what you want inside the idol circle:

  • Keep fires / torches lit (optional wood reserve in base chests)
  • Repair buildings
  • Prepare meals (uses food from her idol chest)
  • Gather bushes and floor items (pick categories: berries, mushrooms, herbs…)
  • Life / presence (menu → Life)

Optional comforts: sit on chairs, sit by the fire, daytime nap, home comfort bonus, map pin (heart), warn on house damage, affection when you stand near her.

Tips

  • Put wood / food she needs in her idol chest (and base chests for fire wood reserve).
  • If she freezes or gets stuck: Crouch+E on the idol once.
  • Night: she walks to her assigned bed to sleep (if day/night is enabled).
  • Rain: in Home life she prefers shelter; work modes keep working.

Como usar (PT-BR)

  • Coloque o ídolo

Martelo → Mobília → Ídolo da esposa (só um por mundo).

  • Controles (olhando o ídolo)

| Tecla | Ação |

| --- | --- |

| E | Abrir o baú dela |

| Shift+E | Abrir o menu |

| Agachar+E | Chamar / destravar (traz ao ídolo) |

Olhando ela: E conversa quando estiver livre.

3–5. Menu

  • Aba Lar: modo Vida no lar / Misto / Trabalhadora, nome e cama.
  • Aba Tarefas: fogo, reparo, refeições, recolher.
  • Aba Vida: sentar, conforto, pin no mapa, carinho…

O idioma do menu segue o idioma do Valheim. As imagens do tutorial em inglês (acima) mostram o mesmo fluxo.

Install & use Install: BepInEx plugin

  1. The archive from playbuff is the mod itself — usually a BepInEx plugin (a .dll or a plugin folder once unzipped).
  2. Recommended: use a community mod manager (such as r2modman) — pick this game, import the mod, and the manager sets up BepInEx and its dependencies for you.
  3. Manual route: install the BepInEx loader in the game folder, then drop the unzipped .dll or plugin folder into BepInEx/plugins/.
  4. Launch the game — the BepInEx console logs every plugin it loads; seeing this mod in the log means it is installed.

Mods with listed dependencies need those installed too, or they will not load. Options are usually changed in-game or in the plugin's config file. In multiplayer, the host and every client need the same mods installed.
