Harvest Turrets
Adds three automated ballista variants that gather the world for you. Clones of the vanilla Ballista — point one at a resource and it works on its own: aiming, warming up, and firing with no ammo and no interaction.
A Valheim BepInEx 5 plugin built on Jotunn.
Turrets
| Piece | Fires | Targets | Cost |
|-------|-------|---------|------|
| Lumberjack Turret | Chop bolt | Trees (TreeBase) and logs (TreeLog) | 20x Wood, 10x Fine Wood, 5x Iron |
| Quarry Turret | Pickaxe bolt | Rocks and ore (MineRock, MineRock5) | 30x Stone, 10x Iron, 5x Bronze |
| Huntsman Turret | Pierce bolt | Wild animals (deer, boar,...) | 15x Fine Wood, 10x Iron, 10x Leather Scraps |
All three are built from the Hammer build menu under Misc.
Requirements
- BepInEx 5 (denikson-BepInExPack_Valheim)
- Jotunn 2.30.x (ValheimModding-Jotunn)
Installation
- Install through your mod manager (recommended) — BepInEx and Jotunn are installed automatically.
- Manual: drop HarvestTurrets.dll into BepInEx\plugins\.
How to use
- Restart the game after installing (the build pieces are registered at startup).
- Build one of the three turrets from the Hammer under Misc and place it near the resource you want worked.
- Walk away. While it has a target the turret scans every 0.4 s, swings to face the nearest valid target, holds its aim for the warm-up, then fires a bolt that deals the right damage type with a high enough tool tier to actually fell trees / mine rocks. With nothing in range it waits 2 s before scanning again.
- The Huntsman Turret leaves tamed animals and hostile monsters alone by default — enable TargetMonsters / TargetTamed (with livestock warnings) in config if you want them hunted too.
How it works
- Damage is applied when the bolt lands, using vanilla damage types (Chop / Pickaxe / Pierce), so drops, log spawning, and death behaviour are all vanilla.
- No ammo required — turrets fire on a configurable cooldown.
- Targeting is owner-authoritative; each turret only acts if it owns its zone data (co-op safe).

Install & use Install: BepInEx plugin
- The archive from playbuff is the mod itself — usually a BepInEx plugin (a .dll or a plugin folder once unzipped).
- Recommended: use a community mod manager (such as r2modman) — pick this game, import the mod, and the manager sets up BepInEx and its dependencies for you.
- Manual route: install the BepInEx loader in the game folder, then drop the unzipped .dll or plugin folder into BepInEx/plugins/.
- Launch the game — the BepInEx console logs every plugin it loads; seeing this mod in the log means it is installed.
Mods with listed dependencies need those installed too, or they will not load. Options are usually changed in-game or in the plugin's config file. In multiplayer, the host and every client need the same mods installed.
Install these first, or the mod will not work:
