About this mod Author’s original text

Guilds — a complete guild system for Valheim

Join the Northarun Discord — news, help and feedback. The link is also in the top-left corner of the guild window.

Players found guilds, invite friends, give them ranks and share a vault and wards. Members wear the

guild emblem and tag next to their name — above their head and in chat. Players outside a guild

look exactly as in the normal game.

How to use

Press F9 (configurable) to open the guild window. Esc or F9 closes it.

Without a guild:

| Tab | What it does |

|---|---|

| GUILD LIST | All guilds on the server with leader, member count and description. Apply to join sends an application. |

| INVITATIONS | Invitations you received and your applications. Accept, decline or withdraw. |

| FOUND A GUILD | Name, tag (2–4 letters/digits), colour and emblem, with a live preview. Costs coins (see CreateCost). |

In a guild:

| Tab | What it does |

|---|---|

| OVERVIEW | Message of the day, description and statistics. Ranks with Edit guild info change the message, description, colour and emblem; the leader also renames the guild. Leave or disband the guild here. |

| MEMBERS | Members by rank, online status and last seen. Invite online players by character name, accept applications, promote, demote, kick, hand over leadership. |

| VAULT | Shared item storage (stacks), a view of your inventory to store items from, and the coin treasury. Coins can also move to/from your Marketplace bank. |

| RANKS | Rename ranks, add new ones, change their permissions and daily coin limits, move them up or down, remove them. |

| LOG | The last 200 events: joins, leaves, promotions, rank changes and every vault movement. |

Emblems and tags

  • Above the heads of members: the full guild name in the guild colour, with the emblem next to it, above the player name.
  • In chat: emblem and [TAG] before the name in normal messages and shouts.
  • The emblem is the icon of an item from the server list (Emblems) — boss and creature trophies by default. Modded items work too.
  • Each player can turn the icons off for themselves (ShowNameplateEmblems, ShowChatEmblems).

Guild buildings

Members whose rank has Guild buildings can build these with the hammer (tab Guild), only inside their guild

territory. The number of each grows with the guild level ([8 - Buildings]).

Built from ordinary game pieces. You place a guild building like any other piece (the ghost shows the whole

building). Once the server accepts it, the building is raised from ordinary vanilla pieces at their normal size: stone

foundation, plank floor, walls, doors, thatched roof, gables, stairs, ladders and all the furniture. Every piece works

like one you built yourself: sit on chairs and thrones, sleep in beds, cook, smelt, craft, store, refuel fires and open

doors. The pieces of a guild building always count as supported, so a building stands whole on uneven ground.

The guild board by the entrance holds the building's guild functions and is the piece that removes the whole

building (hammer). Removing a building removes all of its pieces; a piece removed on its own drops nothing (it was paid

for with the building). Buildings from older versions are rebuilt from game pieces automatically.

| Building | Inside / function |

|---|---|

| Longhouse | Hearth under a smoke hole, throne, tables with benches, banners, dragon heads. Extra comfort for members within LonghouseRadius. |

| Armory | Armour stands, item stands, chests. The board opens the vault on the Armory tab; adds equipment slots (ArmorySlots). |

| Warehouse | Chests, reinforced chests and barrels. The board opens the vault on the Warehouse tab; adds material slots (WarehouseSlots). |

| Barracks | Four beds, chests, a table with stools. The board sets your respawn here (replaces the banner respawn). |

| Smithy | Open shed: forge, workbench, chest. |

| Workshop | Open shed: workbench, stonecutter, chest. |

| Kitchen | Two fire pits under smoke holes with a cooking spit and a cauldron, a table with stoo

Install & use Install: BepInEx plugin

  1. The archive from playbuff is the mod itself — usually a BepInEx plugin (a .dll or a plugin folder once unzipped).
  2. Recommended: use a community mod manager (such as r2modman) — pick this game, import the mod, and the manager sets up BepInEx and its dependencies for you.
  3. Manual route: install the BepInEx loader in the game folder, then drop the unzipped .dll or plugin folder into BepInEx/plugins/.
  4. Launch the game — the BepInEx console logs every plugin it loads; seeing this mod in the log means it is installed.

Mods with listed dependencies need those installed too, or they will not load. Options are usually changed in-game or in the plugin's config file. In multiplayer, the host and every client need the same mods installed.

Install these first, or the mod will not work:
