GrizzlyAutomations
Storage and station automation for Valheim. Chests feed your crafting, your fires, your furnaces and your animals, so the busywork of hauling stacks around a base stops being the game.
Everything is optional and configurable, and on a server the server decides the rules.
What it does
Storage
- Quick-stack puts matching items from your inventory into nearby chests that already hold that item, so a tidy base stays tidy with one keypress. It never scatters items into empty chests.
- Restock refills every item you marked back up to a full stack from nearby chests, even when you are carrying none of it.
- Pin an item and quick-stack will always leave it on you.
Crafting
- Build and craft using materials sitting in nearby chests, without opening a single one.
- Repair everything damaged in one press of the repair button instead of one item per click.
Stations
- Fireplaces, torches and hearths keep themselves lit from nearby chests.
- Smelters pull their own ore and coal, and put finished bars away.
- Charcoal kilns pull their own wood and route the coal they make: top up the emptiest nearby smelter, the closest one, or just store it. They stop making coal once nearby chests already hold enough of it.
- Cooking stations load themselves with raw food, keep their own fuel topped up, and put the finished food away before it burns.
Animals
- Hungry tameable creatures, wild or already tamed, feed themselves from a nearby chest.
Reserving items
Automation is greedy by default: if it can reach an item, it will use it. The NeverTake setting is the way to keep a stockpile for yourself.
Anything listed there is never taken out of a chest by any part of this mod, so your black metal stays put while crafting happily spends everything else. Storing items into chests is unaffected, so quick-stack still works normally on a reserved item.
List items comma-separated, by prefab name or by name token, case-insensitive:
NeverTake = BlackMetal, FineWood, $item_surtlingcore
On a server
Install it on the server as well as on clients, and the server's settings become the settings, pushed to every client on connect and locked unless you are an admin. Your own config file is never overwritten, and your local values come back when you disconnect.
Hotkeys are always yours. They are the one thing the server does not touch.
Solo worlds, and servers without the mod installed, just use your own settings throughout.

Install & use Install: BepInEx plugin
- The archive from playbuff is the mod itself — usually a BepInEx plugin (a .dll or a plugin folder once unzipped).
- Recommended: use a community mod manager (such as r2modman) — pick this game, import the mod, and the manager sets up BepInEx and its dependencies for you.
- Manual route: install the BepInEx loader in the game folder, then drop the unzipped .dll or plugin folder into BepInEx/plugins/.
- Launch the game — the BepInEx console logs every plugin it loads; seeing this mod in the log means it is installed.
Mods with listed dependencies need those installed too, or they will not load. Options are usually changed in-game or in the plugin's config file. In multiplayer, the host and every client need the same mods installed.
Install these first, or the mod will not work:
