GAP Crafted Loot and Carry

Prepared for Valheim 1.0.16 and Epic Loot 0.14.13.

Install on the host and every client. Jotunn checks that everyone has matching versions.

Crafted equipment progression

Set Item Drop Limits = PlayerMustHaveCraftedItem in BepInEx/config/randyknapp.mods.epicloot.cfg.

Equipment unlocks from actual crafting statistics, rather than merely picking an item up. World-shared unlocks use native persistent global keys. Existing participating characters' craft history is imported on login; character history can include crafting in another world or free crafting. Up to 12 new unlocks are synchronized every five seconds.

Uncrafted equipment is excluded, including unchecked fallback entries and mod equipment absent from iteminfo. Loot can fall back to already crafted lower-tier equipment. Existing inventory items and ordinary resource drops are not removed. Spawning equipment and the companion perfectgear command do not grant unlocks. Other Epic Loot progression modes are unchanged.

This is intended for a trusted cooperative group; it is not an anti-cheat system.

Carry capacity

BepInEx/config/gap.carryweight.cfg: [Carry Weight], Base capacity = 900.

Equipment/status bonuses are preserved. For example +150 yields 1050 under the ordinary world weight modifier. Configure the same capacity on all clients; this setting itself is not server-synchronized.

Validation and limits

Validated against the installed modpack using isolated main-menu runtime tests of Epic Loot's actual gate APIs: locked gear, crafted unlock, independent keys, lower-tier fallback, and unchanged Unlimited mode. Native carry calculation returned 900 and 1050 with a +150 status bonus. Native global-key synchronization code was inspected. Real two-player craft-to-drop and join synchronization testing remains to be done.

Back up profiles and world saves before changing progression mods. Uninstalling does not erase existing items or remove the custom world unlock keys.

Install & use Install: BepInEx plugin

  1. The archive from playbuff is the mod itself — usually a BepInEx plugin (a .dll or a plugin folder once unzipped).
  2. Recommended: use a community mod manager (such as r2modman) — pick this game, import the mod, and the manager sets up BepInEx and its dependencies for you.
  3. Manual route: install the BepInEx loader in the game folder, then drop the unzipped .dll or plugin folder into BepInEx/plugins/.
  4. Launch the game — the BepInEx console logs every plugin it loads; seeing this mod in the log means it is installed.

Mods with listed dependencies need those installed too, or they will not load. Options are usually changed in-game or in the plugin's config file. In multiplayer, the host and every client need the same mods installed.
