About this mod Author’s original text
ForsakenRest
A lightweight, vanilla-friendly quality of life mod that resets your Forsaken Power cooldown whenever you wake up from a bed.
In vanilla Valheim, Forsaken Powers (Eikthyr, The Elder, Bonemass, etc.) have a 20-minute real-time cooldown timer. Sleeping through the night fast-forwards the world clock by several hours, but character power cooldowns remain locked to real-world minutes. ForsakenRest introduces a traditional RPG "Long Rest" mechanic: sleep through the night, wake up refreshed, and have your Forsaken Power immediately ready for the new day.
Features
- Long Rest Recovery: Successfully sleeping through the night clears your active guardian power cooldown to 0.
- Client-Only Authority: Works on local solo games and dedicated multiplayer servers.
- Server-Safe: Dedicated servers do not need this mod installed. Other players on the server running vanilla will not experience errors or disconnections.

Automated (Recommended)
Install Mod Manager, r2modman, or Gale.

- Download the mod archive.
- Extract ForsakenRest.dll directly into your Valheim/BepInEx/plugins/ directory.

- Dedicated Servers: Purely client-side. Does not need to be installed on headless dedicated servers.
Install & use Install: BepInEx plugin
- The archive from playbuff is the mod itself — usually a BepInEx plugin (a .dll or a plugin folder once unzipped).
- Recommended: use a community mod manager (such as r2modman) — pick this game, import the mod, and the manager sets up BepInEx and its dependencies for you.
- Manual route: install the BepInEx loader in the game folder, then drop the unzipped .dll or plugin folder into BepInEx/plugins/.
- Launch the game — the BepInEx console logs every plugin it loads; seeing this mod in the log means it is installed.
Mods with listed dependencies need those installed too, or they will not load. Options are usually changed in-game or in the plugin's config file. In multiplayer, the host and every client need the same mods installed.
Install these first, or the mod will not work:
