About this mod Author’s original text

Flattenheim + Dig Deeper Compatibility

This companion BepInEx plugin changes the two custom terrain operations in Flattenheim 1.0.0:

  • Flattenheim's ApplyFlatten
  • Flattenheim's ApplyRampTerrain

It replaces their fixed -8 m / +8 m delta clamp with the live MaximumDepth and MaximumHeight values from Dig Deeper. The lower delta is -MaximumDepth; the upper delta is MaximumHeight.

The patch does not edit either original mod. It does not patch vanilla terrain tools, Flattenheim's radius settings, or its terrain restoration behavior. It has no separate config or toggle; remove this plugin DLL to disable the compatibility patch.

Requirements

  • BepInExPack Valheim 5.4.2350 or later
  • Dig Deeper 1.3.1
  • Flattenheim 1.0.0

The plugin checks that Flattenheim still has the expected -8 / +8 clamp in each method. If an update changes those methods, the affected method is left unchanged and an error is written to the BepInEx log.

Install

Copy BepInEx/plugins/FlattenheimDigDeeperCompatibility/FlattenheimDigDeeperCompatibility.dll into the matching BepInEx/plugins/FlattenheimDigDeeperCompatibility/ folder in the Valheim profile where both mods are installed. Restart Valheim.

To remove the compatibility, delete that plugin folder. Keep Dig Deeper and Flattenheim installed as usual.

Build

The source is in src/CompatibilityPlugin.cs. On Windows, build it with:.\build.ps1 -ProfileRoot "C:\path\to\Valheim\profile" -ValheimManagedPath "C:\path\to\Valheim\valheim_Data\Managed"

The script uses the profile's BepInEx/core/BepInEx.dll and 0Harmony.dll, plus Valheim's UnityEngine.dll, UnityEngine.CoreModule.dll, and netstandard.dll.

Install & use Install: BepInEx plugin

  1. The archive from playbuff is the mod itself — usually a BepInEx plugin (a .dll or a plugin folder once unzipped).
  2. Recommended: use a community mod manager (such as r2modman) — pick this game, import the mod, and the manager sets up BepInEx and its dependencies for you.
  3. Manual route: install the BepInEx loader in the game folder, then drop the unzipped .dll or plugin folder into BepInEx/plugins/.
  4. Launch the game — the BepInEx console logs every plugin it loads; seeing this mod in the log means it is installed.

Mods with listed dependencies need those installed too, or they will not load. Options are usually changed in-game or in the plugin's config file. In multiplayer, the host and every client need the same mods installed.
