ESvK Terrain Adjuster
A builder-focused terrain and landscaping Hoe for Valheim.
Features
Super Flat
- Flattens the full selected radius, raising low terrain and lowering high terrain.
- No material cost or workbench requirement by default.
- Ctrl + Mouse Wheel adjusts the radius and its visible terrain indicator.
- Normal use levels to the player's standing/reference height.
- Hold Shift to use the aimed terrain height instead.
Restore Terrain
- Restores modified terrain toward its original world-generated state, including terrain paint where supported.
- Uses the same adjustable radius, centered on the aimed terrain.
- Affects terrain only: does not delete buildings or respawn trees, rocks, ores or other world objects.
- Requires no stamina, durability, materials or workbench.
- Unsafe legacy terrain-modifier overlaps are skipped and logged rather than destructively reconstructed.
QoL
- No stamina cost for ESvK Terrain Adjuster actions by default.
- No durability loss by default.
- Movement/sprint speed boost while the tool is equipped.
- Vanilla Hoe functionality remains available; native actions retain their normal material and workbench requirements.
- Configurable settings for tool costs, Super Flat requirements, radius bounds and equipped movement speed.
Controls
| Control | Action |
| --- | --- |
| Middle Mouse Button | Open Hoe action menu |
| Ctrl + Mouse Wheel | Adjust the shared Super Flat / Restore Terrain radius |
| Shift + Super Flat | Use aimed terrain height |
| Super Flat without Shift | Use the player's standing/reference height |
Radius is measured from the center to the outer edge, not across the diameter. Restore Terrain always uses the aimed center; Shift does not select a restoration height. The current radius indicator may briefly show overlapping, fading circles when its radius changes.
Multiplayer
Install the same mod version on the dedicated server and all clients. Terrain changes are synchronized and persisted. Gameplay settings are synchronized from the server.
Keep the mod installed when using worlds with Super Flat's extended-height terrain; without it, vanilla height limits can change the visible terrain.
Installation
Recommended: install through r2modman Mod Manager, which also installs the required dependencies.
Manual: install BepInEx and Jotunn, then place ESvK_TerrainAdjuster.dll in:
BepInEx/plugins/ESvK_TerrainAdjuster/
Configuration is generated in BepInEx/config/esvk.valheim.terrainadjuster.cfg after first launch. No personal configuration is bundled.
Compatibility
Tested with:
- Valheim 1.0.12
- BepInEx 5.4.23.5
- Jotunn 2.30.0
Back up your world before large terrain edits. Restore Terrain is not a world rollback: restoring supporting ground can affect buildings through normal game physics. Terrain and paint boundaries follow Valheim's grid and interpolation.
Install & use Install: BepInEx plugin
- The archive from playbuff is the mod itself — usually a BepInEx plugin (a .dll or a plugin folder once unzipped).
- Recommended: use a community mod manager (such as r2modman) — pick this game, import the mod, and the manager sets up BepInEx and its dependencies for you.
- Manual route: install the BepInEx loader in the game folder, then drop the unzipped .dll or plugin folder into BepInEx/plugins/.
- Launch the game — the BepInEx console logs every plugin it loads; seeing this mod in the log means it is installed.
Mods with listed dependencies need those installed too, or they will not load. Options are usually changed in-game or in the plugin's config file. In multiplayer, the host and every client need the same mods installed.
Install these first, or the mod will not work:
