About this mod Author’s original text

Equipment and Quickslots Revamped

A configurable Valheim inventory overhaul that joins expanded player and chest storage, dedicated equipment, draggable quickslots, Viking wood-and-bronze windows, sorting, navigation tools, multiplayer configuration, and safe inventory migration in one mod. Version 1.9.1 sets base carry weight to 3000 by default and caps the setting at 3000.

The mod keeps real Valheim inventory objects and item instances. Items moved into equipment or quickslots leave the backpack, chest expansion remains visible to craft-from-container mods, and items saved in lower rows are protected when upgrading or changing capacity.

Features

  • Base carry weight defaults to 3000 and can be configured from 1 to 3000. Equipment and status-effect bonuses remain additive.
  • Eight-column player inventory with one extra row by default and up to three extra rows.
  • Five-column built and generated chests with up to two extra rows.
  • Generated world-chest loot fills from the top; overflow items are preserved.
  • Six real equipment slots and three draggable quickslots in separate windows.
  • Z, V, and B default quickslot keys and an independent HUD near player health.
  • Light-blue valid equipment highlighting, red invalid highlighting, and slot validation.
  • Separate A-Z player and chest sorting. The player hotbar row remains untouched.
  • Skills-style wood backgrounds, bronze borders, and vanilla slot graphics.
  • Weight display showing current/effective maximum capacity.
  • Day and world time beneath the minimap.
  • Directional compass with nearby map markers and configurable 1000-meter range.
  • Fog exploration defaults to three times vanilla area.
  • Main menu, loading screen, skills, and trophy windows retain vanilla appearance.
  • Lower-row load protection prevents expanded inventory items from dropping during upgrades.
  • Native chest inventory design supports standard craft-from-container APIs.
  • Embedded ServerSync locks gameplay configuration and checks required versions.

Install & use Install: BepInEx plugin

  1. The archive from playbuff is the mod itself — usually a BepInEx plugin (a .dll or a plugin folder once unzipped).
  2. Recommended: use a community mod manager (such as r2modman) — pick this game, import the mod, and the manager sets up BepInEx and its dependencies for you.
  3. Manual route: install the BepInEx loader in the game folder, then drop the unzipped .dll or plugin folder into BepInEx/plugins/.
  4. Launch the game — the BepInEx console logs every plugin it loads; seeing this mod in the log means it is installed.

Mods with listed dependencies need those installed too, or they will not load. Options are usually changed in-game or in the plugin's config file. In multiplayer, the host and every client need the same mods installed.
