Endos Crypt Key Slot Mod
Tired of the Swamp Key taking up a crucial inventory space during your swamp runs? This mod introduces a dedicated, standalone slot for your Crypt Key designed to perfectly match Valheim's native equipment style (like the shield/stat badge).
Features
- Dedicated Custom Slot: Keeps your Crypt Key active and equipped outside of your normal 32 inventory spaces.
- Immersive Visuals: The slot displays a semi-transparent key silhouette when empty and pulses with a magical swamp-green glow when the key is successfully slotted.
- Seamless Door Interactions: Open Sunken Crypt gates instantly by pressing E while the key is in your bundle slot.
- Persistent Saves: The key safely saves with your character data, stays secure upon death, and stays put during server logouts.
- Configurable: Fully compatible with BepInEx configuration managers to adjust screen coordinates to fit any custom UI layout.
Installation
Manual Installation
- Ensure you have BepInEx installed for Valheim.
- Move the SwampKeyBundle.dll file into your Steam/steamapps/common/Valheim/BepInEx/plugins/ directory.
- Launch the game!
Configuration
Upon launching the game for the first time, a configuration file named EndosCryptKeySlot.cfg will generate inside your BepInEx/config/ folder. You can open this file with any text editor to adjust:
- Slot X Position: Move the UI horizontally.
- Slot Y Position: Move the UI vertically.
Changelog
v1.0.0
- Initial release. Full English translation, custom data persistence hooks, and 1-frame injection door patches.
Install & use Install: BepInEx plugin
- The archive from playbuff is the mod itself — usually a BepInEx plugin (a .dll or a plugin folder once unzipped).
- Recommended: use a community mod manager (such as r2modman) — pick this game, import the mod, and the manager sets up BepInEx and its dependencies for you.
- Manual route: install the BepInEx loader in the game folder, then drop the unzipped .dll or plugin folder into BepInEx/plugins/.
- Launch the game — the BepInEx console logs every plugin it loads; seeing this mod in the log means it is installed.
Mods with listed dependencies need those installed too, or they will not load. Options are usually changed in-game or in the plugin's config file. In multiplayer, the host and every client need the same mods installed.
Install these first, or the mod will not work:
