EasyLiving 3.1 — Quality of Life Expanded
By Patocino · package: Patocino/EasyLiving
EasyLiving is a quality-of-life mod for Valheim built around choice. Its quality-of-life systems are individually configurable, so you can keep the systems you want while preserving familiar vanilla behavior everywhere else.
Fully Modular
EasyLiving is fully modular. Every feature can be individually enabled or disabled, allowing players to use only the systems they want and reduce overlap with other mods.
If another mod provides a similar feature, disable only the overlapping EasyLiving module. You do not need to disable EasyLiving as a whole; unrelated modules can remain enabled normally.
What's New in 3.1
- Keep Inventory on Death through Valheim's native death flow.
- Item Sorting with one context-aware button for the player inventory or the currently open container.
- Tool Stamina for the Hammer, Hoe and Cultivator.
- Prevent Rain Damage while keeping underwater wear vanilla.
- Potion Cooldown Reduction with 25%, 50%, 75% and 100% reduction options.
- Expanded Vein Mining: the world controls permission, while each player cycles Off, On or On + Stones with H.
- Vein Mining support for Petrified Bone, natural stones and Flametal through the generic deposit system.
- Improved ammunition filtering in Quick Deposit and broader CraftingStation-based Station Range support.

World Profiles
EasyLiving stores gameplay settings by world UID at:
BepInEx/config/EasyLiving/WorldProfiles.json
- A world with a profile uses that profile.
- A newly created world receives the official EasyLiving defaults.
- A legacy world without a profile uses the existing Ignis.EasyLiving.cfg values as its fallback.
Profiles contain world/server gameplay settings. Item Sorting and personal keybinds remain local and are not stored in world profiles.
Keybinds
Open Settings → Keyboard & Mouse → EasyLiving to configure:
- Quick Deposit — J
- Vein Mining — H
- Auto Repair — P
The page supports remapping, duplicate-key confirmation and Reset Controls. Choosing Yes accepts a duplicate; No or Esc restores the previous binding.
Languages
EasyLiving supports:
- English
- Portuguese (Brazil)
- Russian
Any other Valheim language uses English as the fallback. Item and station names continue to use Valheim's own localization.
Multiplayer
Gameplay settings are host/server authoritative. Clients use the host's effective session configuration. Personal keybinds remain local.
Compatibility
Nearby-storage features use eligible nearby containers in the effective area of a normal Workbench. They respect access, Ward and ownership conditions.
If another installed mod changes the same mechanic, disable only the equivalent EasyLiving module to avoid duplicate behavior or conflicting patches.
Requirements
- Valheim 1.0.12
- BepInExPack Valheim 5.4.2350
- Jotunn 2.30.0
Installation
- Install BepInExPack Valheim and Jotunn.
- Install with a -compatible manager, or extract this archive into the Valheim game folder.
- Confirm the DLL is at BepInEx/plugins/EasyLiving/EasyLiving.dll.
- Start Valheim and configure EasyLiving through World Modifiers or BepInEx/config/Ign
Install & use Install: BepInEx plugin
- The archive from playbuff is the mod itself — usually a BepInEx plugin (a .dll or a plugin folder once unzipped).
- Recommended: use a community mod manager (such as r2modman) — pick this game, import the mod, and the manager sets up BepInEx and its dependencies for you.
- Manual route: install the BepInEx loader in the game folder, then drop the unzipped .dll or plugin folder into BepInEx/plugins/.
- Launch the game — the BepInEx console logs every plugin it loads; seeing this mod in the log means it is installed.
Mods with listed dependencies need those installed too, or they will not load. Options are usually changed in-game or in the plugin's config file. In multiplayer, the host and every client need the same mods installed.
Install these first, or the mod will not work:
