About this mod Author’s original text
DurabilityBegone
A lightweight Valheim utility mod that removes durability loss from player equipment and adds an optional hammer Area Repair feature.
No Jötunn required.
Features
No Durability Loss
When enabled, DurabilityBegone prevents durability loss on durability-using player items and restores damaged durability as a safety fallback.
Designed to cover:
- Weapons
- Tools
- Bows
- Shields
- Armor
- Hammers
- Hoes
- Torches
- Other durability-using inventory items
Optional Area Repair
Enable Area Repair in ConfigManager to repair nearby building pieces when you use the hammer's normal Repair action.
Area Repair:
- Uses Valheim's normal repair behavior on nearby build pieces
- Keeps normal LMB/RMB and hoe targeting intact
- Displays how many nearby pieces were successfully repaired
- Lets you configure the repair radius from 5 m to 30 m
- Excludes the single piece you manually repaired from the AoE repair count
Example notification:
Area Repair: 12 pieces repaired

Install & use Install: BepInEx plugin
- The archive from playbuff is the mod itself — usually a BepInEx plugin (a .dll or a plugin folder once unzipped).
- Recommended: use a community mod manager (such as r2modman) — pick this game, import the mod, and the manager sets up BepInEx and its dependencies for you.
- Manual route: install the BepInEx loader in the game folder, then drop the unzipped .dll or plugin folder into BepInEx/plugins/.
- Launch the game — the BepInEx console logs every plugin it loads; seeing this mod in the log means it is installed.
Mods with listed dependencies need those installed too, or they will not load. Options are usually changed in-game or in the plugin's config file. In multiplayer, the host and every client need the same mods installed.
Install these first, or the mod will not work:
