About this mod Author’s original text
Deep North Hot Springs
A small BepInEx 5 mod that enables Valheim's three disabled vanilla Deep North Hot Spring locations:
- HotSpring1
- HotSpring2
- HotSpring3
The mod preserves Iron Gate's biome, altitude, distance, terrain, spacing, group, and quantity constraints. TheDarkestHole remains disabled.
Pool effects
While a player is standing, sitting, or walking in a Hot Spring pool, the mod:
- applies Resting at comfort level 5;
- grants Rested after 60 continuous seconds, with the comfort-level-5 duration;
- regenerates an additional 2 HP per second.
Leaving the pool resets the 60-second Rested timer. An already earned Rested effect remains for its normal duration.
Build
The default build path expects Valheim at:
~/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/common/Valheim
Build with:
dotnet build DeepNorthStructures/DeepNorthStructures.csproj -c Release
For a different installation, pass the path explicitly:
dotnet build DeepNorthStructures/DeepNorthStructures.csproj -c Release \
-p:ValheimPath="/path/to/Valheim"
Install
Install with a -compatible mod manager, or copy DeepNorthStructures.dll into BepInEx/plugins/ on the server and on every client. Clients need the mod for the pool status effects.
No asset bundle is required because all three prefabs are already part of Valheim.
Existing worlds
Back up the world before adding any world-generation mod.
No genloc command is required. When an existing world is loaded on the server, the mod automatically generates only missing Hot Spring candidates in unexplored zones. The candidates are saved with the world during the next normal save. Already generated zones and placed locations are left untouched.
The prefabs are unreleased content. They may be incomplete, unbalanced, or changed or removed by a later Valheim update.
Install & use Install: BepInEx plugin
- The archive from playbuff is the mod itself — usually a BepInEx plugin (a .dll or a plugin folder once unzipped).
- Recommended: use a community mod manager (such as r2modman) — pick this game, import the mod, and the manager sets up BepInEx and its dependencies for you.
- Manual route: install the BepInEx loader in the game folder, then drop the unzipped .dll or plugin folder into BepInEx/plugins/.
- Launch the game — the BepInEx console logs every plugin it loads; seeing this mod in the log means it is installed.
Mods with listed dependencies need those installed too, or they will not load. Options are usually changed in-game or in the plugin's config file. In multiplayer, the host and every client need the same mods installed.
Install these first, or the mod will not work:
