Custom Loading Screens and Tips

Use your own images as custom loading screens.

Recommended image size: 1920x1080

Setup

  • Launch the game once, to generate the config file and default image folder.

Configuration

DEFAULT IMAGE FOLDER:

The pack includes plugins\CustomLoadingScreens next to CustomLoadingScreens.dll. Put.png.jpg images and tips.txt in that folder.

r2modman installs it as:

plugins\cjayride-CustomLoadingScreens\CustomLoadingScreens

  • Optionally, specify another directory inside the BepInEx folder (see config file).

EDIT CONFIG FILE:

config\cjayride.CustomLoadingScreens.cfg

  • Example: You can also specify a directory in the config folder to save your images: config\mypack\CustomLoadingScreens
  • You can specify any directory path inside the BepInEx folder.

Known Issues

  • For local hosted games, the screens only display when first loading into the game, but not when using portals.
  • For dedicated server games, the screens will display when first loading into the game, AND when using portals, but the images are not randomized. Moreover, one image is randomly selected at game launch, and is used throughout the rest of the session.

AI Generated

This code was not AI Generated, however, AI was used to verify that it works with the new version of the game.

Install & use Install: BepInEx plugin

  1. The archive from playbuff is the mod itself — usually a BepInEx plugin (a .dll or a plugin folder once unzipped).
  2. Recommended: use a community mod manager (such as r2modman) — pick this game, import the mod, and the manager sets up BepInEx and its dependencies for you.
  3. Manual route: install the BepInEx loader in the game folder, then drop the unzipped .dll or plugin folder into BepInEx/plugins/.
  4. Launch the game — the BepInEx console logs every plugin it loads; seeing this mod in the log means it is installed.

Mods with listed dependencies need those installed too, or they will not load. Options are usually changed in-game or in the plugin's config file. In multiplayer, the host and every client need the same mods installed.

Install these first, or the mod will not work:
