About this mod Author’s original text
Description
This mod basically maps UnityEngine.QualitySettings to configurable variables.
You can use this mod to help make Valheim run smoother on potato PCs or increase the quality of screenshots.
Just make sure you read the documentation first:
Notes
A bunch of the int settings are actually enumerators, so for example "shadows" can be set to 0, 1, 2, corresponding to the values here:
i.e. 0 = Disable, 1 = HardOnly, 2 = All
This mod doesn't touch post-processing yet.
Config
A config file BepInEx/config/aedenthorn.CustomGraphicsSettings.cfg is created after running the game once with this mod).
You can adjust the config values by editing this file using a text editor
Technical
To install this mod, the easiest way is to just use Vortex, the mod manager. It should take care of all dependencies.
To install manually, place the dll file in the BepInEx/plugins folder. You will need BepInEx.

Install & use Install: BepInEx plugin
- The archive from playbuff is the mod itself — usually a BepInEx plugin (a .dll or a plugin folder once unzipped).
- Recommended: use a community mod manager (such as r2modman) — pick this game, import the mod, and the manager sets up BepInEx and its dependencies for you.
- Manual route: install the BepInEx loader in the game folder, then drop the unzipped .dll or plugin folder into BepInEx/plugins/.
- Launch the game — the BepInEx console logs every plugin it loads; seeing this mod in the log means it is installed.
Mods with listed dependencies need those installed too, or they will not load. Options are usually changed in-game or in the plugin's config file. In multiplayer, the host and every client need the same mods installed.
