Cody’s Valheim Server
The shared mod setup for Cody's Valheim server. Install in a new profile called Cody’s Valheim Server, then launch modded Valheim.
Setup
Follow the Mac or Windows setup guide.
- Install Valheim through Steam, open it once, and close it.
- Mac: install official Macheim, set up BepInEx, and create a fresh profile. Apple Silicon also needs Rosetta 2.
- Windows: install official r2modman, select Valheim and Steam, and create a fresh profile.
- Search for Codys_Valheim_Server by CodyShanley in the manager and install this pack. Use Macheim's Modpacks → or r2modman's Online list.
- Compare the enabled mod versions with the list below, keep their default settings, and launch Play Modded (Mac) or Start modded (Windows).
Use a profile named Cody’s Valheim Server. If you already used our earlier installer, select the existing profile and check its versions instead of reinstalling everything. Back up existing mod files before making changes.
The server uses Valheim 1.0.16. Keep these mod versions until Cody updates the server and pack together. Avoid Update all.
Join
In Valheim: Start Game → choose character → Join Game → Add Server. Enter valheim.codyshanley.com. If your client asks for a port, use 2456. Ask Cody privately for the server password.
Quick Stack
Close any open chest and press P within 10 metres of your storage. It deposits items into nearby chests already containing the same item type. Put one matching item in an empty chest first. Hotbar items and favorited items are protected by default.
- P: quick stack into matching chests
- L: restock from nearby chests
- O: sort your inventory
MultiUserChest must be installed on every player and the server, at the same version. Keep AllowAreaStackingInMultiplayerWithoutMUC = false; the pack uses safe multiplayer synchronization.

BepInEx is the loader. Jotunn and MultiUserChest support the other mods. All gameplay configuration values use mod defaults. The pack contains version references and five mod configuration files; it contains no world, character, password, or player data.
Bigger Chests is an older mod already used by this world. Keep it installed when using this server: clients with smaller container sizes can lose items stored in extra slots. Its package version is 1.0.2; the assembly reports 0.0.1. It has no explicit Valheim 1.0 support statement, so it is retained for existing container consistency rather than treated as newly certified.
Vanilla and removal
On Mac use Macheim's Play Vanilla. On Windows use r2modman's Start vanilla. Do not open this server's characters or containers without the pack while items are in extra equipment or chest slots. Move those items into ordinary storage first if you intend to remove inventory mods.

Install & use Install: BepInEx plugin
- The archive from playbuff is the mod itself — usually a BepInEx plugin (a .dll or a plugin folder once unzipped).
- Recommended: use a community mod manager (such as r2modman) — pick this game, import the mod, and the manager sets up BepInEx and its dependencies for you.
- Manual route: install the BepInEx loader in the game folder, then drop the unzipped .dll or plugin folder into BepInEx/plugins/.
- Launch the game — the BepInEx console logs every plugin it loads; seeing this mod in the log means it is installed.
Mods with listed dependencies need those installed too, or they will not load. Options are usually changed in-game or in the plugin's config file. In multiplayer, the host and every client need the same mods installed.
