Chebs Necromancy Enhanced

Fork of Cheb's Necromancy focused on Ashlands Charred minions. All credit for the original mod goes to Cheb Gonaz and contributors (see history below); this fork adds its own content on top.

New in Enhanced: the Charred Wand

  • New craftable Charred Wand (forge: CharredBone + FlametalNew) that summons Charred Warrior, Charred Archer and Charred Twitcher (H cycles, B creates, F/T/Shift+T/G command).
  • Shift+B armored elites: full Charred armor set with its own HP multiplier, metal refund on death and death-crate support.
  • Deterministic base models, commandable minions with owner/status hover, necromancy-scaled HP/tiers, out-of-combat regen, configurable resists and XP — everything server-synced and tunable.
  • Visual identity: blue StaffRedTroll-based wand (model + icon) and blue soul/eyes particles behind CharredCustomColors (+ HTML color selector).

About the original mod

Cheb's Necromancy by Cheb Gonaz adds Necromancy to Valheim via craftable wands and structures. This fork keeps all of that and builds on it — full history preserved below.

Requirements

  • Valheim
  • BepInEx
  • Jotunn

Installation (manual)

  • Drag the contents of the plugins folder from inside the archive to your BepInEx plugins folder in the Valheim directory.

Cheb's Valheim Library

Cheb's Valheim Library (CVL) is a DLL that contains shared code across my mods. For example, both skeletons from Cheb's Necromancy and mercenaries from Cheb's Mercenaries inherit the ChebGonazMinion type from CVL. This permits mercenaries to be commanded by a wand, and vice versa.

My mods are bundled with the latest CVL at the time of their release, but if you want to upgrade, you can get the newest CVL here.

Features

Detailed info in the wiki. Here's the short version:

  • Almost everything is configurable. Minions too weak/overpowered? Tweak them.
  • Player vs Player (PvP) settings can be configured as of 4.5.0.
  • As of 4.6.0, further minion appearance customization options are available. You can change the eye color of your minions and also give them special symbols on their capes. And in 4.7.0 you can change the bone color of skeletons too.
  • Craftable items at the workbench and forge:

+ Skeleton Wand: Summons skeleton warriors, archers, miners, and woodcutters.

+ Draugr Wand: Summons draugr warriors and archers.

+ Orb of Beckoning Summons skeleton mages and can be thrown to direct minions to go somewhere. It also sticks to enemies so that minions will chase after an enemy.

+ Spectral Shroud: A cloak that increases your Necromancy level, looks cool, and attracts spirits to it. If you're powerful enough, they will serve.

+ Necromancer Hood: A cool hood to match the cloak.

+ Necromancer's Backpack: An optional integration with AdventureBackpacks (, ), which offers a Necromancy backpack that doubles as a Spectral Shroud.

  • While holding a Skeleton Wand, Draugr Wand, or Orb of Beckoning you can control the minions:

+ B will make a minion.

+ H will cycle minion types (eg. switch from Warrior to Archer) created by B.

+ F will make all nearby minions follow you.

+ T will make all nearby minions wait.

+ Shift+T will make minions roam.

+ G will teleport all following minions to your position (useful if stuck or to get them on boats)

  • A new Necromancy Skill which increases the quality of your minions and allows you to upgrade them.
  • Minion health increases with Necromancy level.
  • Minions ignore collision with the player so you won't be trapped.
  • Minions do not deal damage to player structures and are not affected by sharpened stakes.
  • Minions remember who created them and cannot be commanded by other players.
  • Upgrades: Having additional items in your inventory when you summon can create an upgraded version of a minion. As a safety measure to prevent you from accidentally consuming st

Install & use Install: BepInEx plugin

  1. The archive from playbuff is the mod itself — usually a BepInEx plugin (a .dll or a plugin folder once unzipped).
  2. Recommended: use a community mod manager (such as r2modman) — pick this game, import the mod, and the manager sets up BepInEx and its dependencies for you.
  3. Manual route: install the BepInEx loader in the game folder, then drop the unzipped .dll or plugin folder into BepInEx/plugins/.
  4. Launch the game — the BepInEx console logs every plugin it loads; seeing this mod in the log means it is installed.

Mods with listed dependencies need those installed too, or they will not load. Options are usually changed in-game or in the plugin's config file. In multiplayer, the host and every client need the same mods installed.

Install these first, or the mod will not work:
