Bring cuteness, comfort, and a touch of purrfection to the harsh lands of Valheim!
The Cats mod adds 11 unique cat breeds, each with their own look, sounds, and personality.
They don’t breed, grow, or run away — they simply arrive ready to love you. ❤️
Your new companions come from a Cat Gift Box, a magical item that releases a fully grown, tamed cat ready to make your Viking base feel like home.

Craft a Cat Gift Box at the Workbench, toss it on the ground, and wait for the surprise!

Notes
- All cats can be fed with using Raw Meat, Deer Meat, Neck Tail, or Fish Raw.
- Some cats have rare coat patterns and unique animations.

MANUAL INSTALL (click to expand)
- Mod is required on Server for Config Sync (this is still in development).
- Download the latest copy of Bepinex per author's instructions.
- Place the Cats.dll inside of the "Bepinex\plugins\" folder.

Install & use Install: BepInEx plugin
- The archive from playbuff is the mod itself — usually a BepInEx plugin (a .dll or a plugin folder once unzipped).
- Recommended: use a community mod manager (such as r2modman) — pick this game, import the mod, and the manager sets up BepInEx and its dependencies for you.
- Manual route: install the BepInEx loader in the game folder, then drop the unzipped .dll or plugin folder into BepInEx/plugins/.
- Launch the game — the BepInEx console logs every plugin it loads; seeing this mod in the log means it is installed.
Mods with listed dependencies need those installed too, or they will not load. Options are usually changed in-game or in the plugin's config file. In multiplayer, the host and every client need the same mods installed.
