About this mod Author’s original text

Boss Loot Chests

When a boss dies, its loot is placed in black-metal chests at its feet instead of dumping on the ground.

That stops auto-pickup and crowded melee from grabbing coins and unique drops before anyone sees what dropped.

Install on server and all clients.

What it does

  • Intercepts boss loot before it becomes a world item drop.
  • Fills piece_chest_blackmetal chests (config: ChestPrefab). Spawns more chests if one is full.
  • Chests cannot be broken or hammered away.
  • An emptied chest deletes itself and plays a smoke puff.
  • Works with EpicLoot: magic items go into the chests too.
  • Drop That rolls first, so configured amounts (such as 400–500 coins per player) are what go in the chest.
  • Adds that die within 80 meters of an alerted boss, and for 8 seconds after the boss dies, have their drops put in the same chests.

Config (cjayride.bosslootchests.cfg)

| Setting | Default | |

|---|---|---|

| Enabled | true | Master switch |

| ChestPrefab | piece_chest_blackmetal | World container prefab |

| RemoveSmoke | true | Smoke when an empty chest vanishes |

| AddRadius | 80 | Meters around an alerted boss. Add drops in that range go into the boss chest. |

| AddSeconds | 8 | Seconds after the boss dies that nearby add drops still go into the chest. |

Changelog

1.0.0

  • Boss loot goes straight into world chests at the death spot. Nothing is spawned as a ground drop, so auto-pickup cannot grab it.
  • Extra chests spawn if one chest is not enough.
  • Chests are indestructible (hammer and damage do nothing).
  • A chest deletes itself when the last item is taken, with a smoke puff (RemoveSmoke, on by default).
  • EpicLoot magic-item rolls are stored in the same chests when EpicLoot is installed.
  • Install on the server and all clients.

Install & use Install: BepInEx plugin

  1. The archive from playbuff is the mod itself — usually a BepInEx plugin (a .dll or a plugin folder once unzipped).
  2. Recommended: use a community mod manager (such as r2modman) — pick this game, import the mod, and the manager sets up BepInEx and its dependencies for you.
  3. Manual route: install the BepInEx loader in the game folder, then drop the unzipped .dll or plugin folder into BepInEx/plugins/.
  4. Launch the game — the BepInEx console logs every plugin it loads; seeing this mod in the log means it is installed.

Mods with listed dependencies need those installed too, or they will not load. Options are usually changed in-game or in the plugin's config file. In multiplayer, the host and every client need the same mods installed.
