Bear Taming Mod
A Valheim mod that adds an advanced taming, growth and breeding system for bears.
Features
🐻 Bear Taming
- Taming with honey (configurable items)
- Status display: "(Tamed) (Hungry/Happy/Fed)"
- "Pet" command = follow player
👶 Cub Growth System
- Automatic growth through game time (5 days by default)
- Smooth growth curve with smoothstep function
- Visual size change from 0.5x to 1.0x
- Growth progress display when hovering
- State preservation between sessions
❤️ Breeding System
- Breeding for adult tamed bears
- Conditions: fullness + 2 day cooldown + close distance
- 30% breeding chance when conditions met
- 1 bear cub born from 2 adult bears
- Automatic updates every 60 seconds
🎮 Console Commands
- spawnbabybear - spawn a bear cub
- bearinfo - information about all bears
- forcegrow - instantly grow all cubs
- beargrowthupdate - force growth update
- bearbreedingupdate - force breeding update
- beardiagnostic - system diagnostics
⚙️ Configuration Settings
- TameTime - taming time (1200 sec)
- FedDuration - fed duration (400 sec)
- ConsumableItems - taming items (Honey)
- GrowthDays - growth days (5 days)
- BreedChance - breeding chance (0.3)
- BreedCooldownDays - breeding cooldown (2 days)
Installation
- Install BepInEx
- Download the latest mod version
- Extract to BepInEx/plugins folder
- Launch the game!

Balance
- 🐻 Bear cubs don't drop items when killed

Install & use Install: BepInEx plugin
- The archive from playbuff is the mod itself — usually a BepInEx plugin (a .dll or a plugin folder once unzipped).
- Recommended: use a community mod manager (such as r2modman) — pick this game, import the mod, and the manager sets up BepInEx and its dependencies for you.
- Manual route: install the BepInEx loader in the game folder, then drop the unzipped .dll or plugin folder into BepInEx/plugins/.
- Launch the game — the BepInEx console logs every plugin it loads; seeing this mod in the log means it is installed.
Mods with listed dependencies need those installed too, or they will not load. Options are usually changed in-game or in the plugin's config file. In multiplayer, the host and every client need the same mods installed.
