AzuCraftyBoxes Fixes & Config
Choose whether your character can use nearby chests for building, crafting and filling machines. Each feature has its own switch, so you can build from storage while keeping crafting and machine inputs in your inventory.
Includes performance improvements for recipe checks, reducing repeated work and temporary allocations while keeping recipe unlocks, station requirements and material consumption unchanged.
This addon requires official AzuCraftyBoxes 1.8.19. It also retains support for the previously checked fedorovdgap 1.8.18 rebuild when installed manually. Use one base mod at a time.
Install
Install the addon, AzuCraftyBoxes and BepInExPack Valheim on the server and every client. Import this ZIP through your mod manager, or copy its BepInEx folder into your game folder. Close the game and stop the server before updating; keep one copy of the addon DLL.
Your settings are stored in BepInEx/config/local.valheim.azucraftyboxesbuildingonly.cfg. Each player's choices remain local. The server checks addon installation and version.
Controls
| Feature | Default | Shortcut |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Build from nearby chests | On | F8 |
| Craft from nearby chests | Off | F9 |
| Fill machines from nearby chests | Off | F10 |
Shortcuts can be changed or set to None. SuperSampling (DSR) also uses F8 by default; remap one shortcut if you use both mods.
Shortcuts pause while you type in chat, use the console, or have a text-entry dialog open. Rebinding a toggle to a letter key will no longer change your settings while entering text.
The master switch returns feature control to normal AzuCraftyBoxes behavior. The addon's material and API safeguards remain installed. Chest use still follows AzuCraftyBoxes' range, access, exclusion and leave-one settings. Exact keys are listed in CONFIG_REFERENCE.md.
Compatibility
- Checked with Valheim 1.0.16, BepInExPack 5.4.2351 and official AzuCraftyBoxes 1.8.19.
- Unrecognized base versions are rejected until their APIs have been checked.
- Build Camera is optional. A camera compatibility warning does not stop the addon's required startup checks.
- AzuAutoStore keeps its own storage rules. If it requires an item already in a chest, enable CraftyBoxes' Leave One Item setting to preserve that restocking template.
Troubleshooting
Look for Loaded successfully: AzuCraftyBoxes Fixes & Config 1.6.3 and Base profile=Official1819 in BepInEx/LogOutput.log. If dependency-health checks fail, the addon stays inactive and logs the reason.
Package 1.6.4 improves the mod-page and mod-manager descriptions and contains the same tested 1.6.3 DLL, including its recipe-check optimization and text-input shortcut safeguard. Your existing settings and key bindings are preserved. Servers and clients already using package 1.6.3 have the same DLL. Credit to Azumatt for AzuCraftyBoxes and to the original addon contributors. Install & use Install: BepInEx plugin
- The archive from playbuff is the mod itself — usually a BepInEx plugin (a .dll or a plugin folder once unzipped).
- Recommended: use a community mod manager (such as r2modman) — pick this game, import the mod, and the manager sets up BepInEx and its dependencies for you.
- Manual route: install the BepInEx loader in the game folder, then drop the unzipped .dll or plugin folder into BepInEx/plugins/.
- Launch the game — the BepInEx console logs every plugin it loads; seeing this mod in the log means it is installed.
Mods with listed dependencies need those installed too, or they will not load. Options are usually changed in-game or in the plugin's config file. In multiplayer, the host and every client need the same mods installed.
Install these first, or the mod will not work:
