Arcanum Full Duration Food Buffs
Full-strength food buffs for the full duration of your meal. No more, no less.
Food normally loses potency as its timer counts down. This mod keeps each consumed food's health, stamina, and eitr bonuses at full strength for its normal duration. When that food expires, its bonuses end.
For example, a food that grants 80 health for 20 minutes continues to contribute 80 maximum health throughout those 20 minutes. Its contribution disappears when the timer runs out.
What it changes
- Keeps food health, stamina, and eitr bonuses at full potency until expiration.
- Applies to consumed food, including berries, cooked meals, and feasts.
What stays the same
- Food timers and meal durations.
- Health regeneration rates and normal regeneration behavior.
- Eating, replacing food, and food expiration rules.
- Damage, resource consumption, and normal recovery. This mod does not refill your current health, stamina, or eitr.
No extended meals. No permanent buffs. Just full food potency for the meal's existing duration.
Tested in game
In-game testing confirmed the expected behavior with various berries, cooked meals, and feasts: food buffs retained their full potency during the meal and ended when the food expired.
Offline checks also passed for health, stamina, and eitr totals; nearly expired food; zero and negative timers; stacked food bonuses; simultaneous expiration; and empty food slots. Timers, duration, and regeneration values were preserved.
Installation
Requires BepInExPack Valheim.
Mod manager
Install this mod through your Valheim mod manager and launch the game with that profile. The declared BepInEx dependency will be installed automatically.
Manual installation
- Install BepInEx for Valheim and close the game.
- Copy the ZIP's BepInEx folder into your Valheim installation, merging folders.
- Launch the game with BepInEx enabled.
Install on each player's client to enable the effect for that player. Installing only on a dedicated server does not enable the effect on clients. No server synchronization or enforcement is included.
No configuration is required.
Replacing a preview build
Remove NoFoodBuffDecay.dll or ArcanumFoodStability.dll before installing this release. Only one version should be installed.
Compatibility and removal
Avoid combining this with another mod that changes food decay or food totals.
To uninstall, remove ArcanumFullDurationFoodBuffs.dll or disable the mod in your manager, then restart Valheim. The game will resume its normal food potency calculations.
Install & use Install: BepInEx plugin
- The archive from playbuff is the mod itself — usually a BepInEx plugin (a .dll or a plugin folder once unzipped).
- Recommended: use a community mod manager (such as r2modman) — pick this game, import the mod, and the manager sets up BepInEx and its dependencies for you.
- Manual route: install the BepInEx loader in the game folder, then drop the unzipped .dll or plugin folder into BepInEx/plugins/.
- Launch the game — the BepInEx console logs every plugin it loads; seeing this mod in the log means it is installed.
Mods with listed dependencies need those installed too, or they will not load. Options are usually changed in-game or in the plugin's config file. In multiplayer, the host and every client need the same mods installed.
Install these first, or the mod will not work:
