🏃♂️ Improved Auto Run 🏃♂️
- It doesn't stop when you strafe with A/D, jump, dodge or crouch.
- It follows the camera direction: to turn, just move the mouse.
- It stops with S or by pressing the auto run key again.
- It stops when you attack with any weapon or tool (including drawing a bow or crossbow), so you can react in combat. Blocking with a shield doesn't stop it.
- It stays active in build mode, so you can place pieces while moving.
- Sprints again on its own: if you run out of stamina while sprinting, you keep jogging and, as soon as the stamina recharge boost ends, you start sprinting again automatically.
- Crossbow reloading without losing pace: when reloading while sprinting, the sprint pauses for a moment (you keep jogging) so the reload isn't cancelled, and it resumes by itself when finished.
Keys:
| Key ⌨️ | Action |
|:-:|:-:|
| Auto run key (the one in Valheim's settings) | Starts or stops auto run |
| S | Stops auto run |
🛣️ Automatic Path Following 🛣️
Start auto run on a path made with the hoe and your character will follow its curves on their own, without you having to turn the camera.
- The camera turns smoothly and naturally, always behind your character.
- It adapts to your speed: when sprinting or galloping it looks further ahead and turns faster so it doesn't leave the path on curves.
- Works on foot and mounted. When riding, the animal follows the path by itself and stays in the middle of the road.
- Take control whenever you want: moving the mouse sideways or pressing A/D gives you control for one second, and then it goes back to following the path.
- If you drift slightly off the path, it tries to get back on it.
- At crossroads it takes the straightest branch; to choose another one, turn the mouse towards it.
- When leaving the path, auto run continues normally.
Key
| Key ⌨️ | Action |
|:-:|:-:|
| Shift + auto run key | Starts auto run following the path (on foot or mounted) |
| The same combination again | Stops it |
| Auto run key alone | Switches to normal auto run without stopping |
🏞️ Free Look Camera 🏞️
Hold Left Alt to look around freely while you keep moving in the same direction.
- Works while walking, sprinting, with auto run, following paths and mounted.
- You can move with WASD normally while looking somewhere else.
- When standing still, your character doesn't turn towards the camera.
- When you release the key, the camera goes back to the front: instantly or with a smooth transition, as you prefer.
- When blocking or aiming, your character does turn towards the camera, so you attack where you are looking.
⚡ Improved Stamina ⚡
Recharge Boost
- Strong boost up to half of the bar.
- Then the recharge slows down smoothly, without sudden changes, until it reaches the game's normal speed.
Rested
With the Rested effect, the boost lasts longer (up to 60% of the bar), without getting stronger. Outside the boost, Rested works as usual.
Stamina recharges much faster while you are low on it, so you are never left defenseless:
Green Stamina Bar
During the boost, the stamina bar turns green and gradually returns to its normal yellow as the boost ends. This way you can see at a glance how much boost you have left.
🌄 Paths and Roads 🌄
Building paths now has a real reward:
- Sprinting on paths made with the hoe (dirt or paved) or on buildings (floors, bridges, stone roads) uses half the stamina.
- You run 10% faster on paths made with the hoe, and 15% faster if you are Rested.
- Your mount also goes faster on paths, with the same percentages.

Install & use Install: BepInEx plugin
- The archive from playbuff is the mod itself — usually a BepInEx plugin (a .dll or a plugin folder once unzipped).
- Recommended: use a community mod manager (such as r2modman) — pick this game, import the mod, and the manager sets up BepInEx and its dependencies for you.
- Manual route: install the BepInEx loader in the game folder, then drop the unzipped .dll or plugin folder into BepInEx/plugins/.
- Launch the game — the BepInEx console logs every plugin it loads; seeing this mod in the log means it is installed.
Mods with listed dependencies need those installed too, or they will not load. Options are usually changed in-game or in the plugin's config file. In multiplayer, the host and every client need the same mods installed.
Install these first, or the mod will not work:
