Agartha

Legends speak of a hollow world beneath the ice at the top of the world, lit by a sun that never sets.

Every new world hides exactly one Polar Gate somewhere in the Deep North: a dark sinkhole ringed by stones, with an ancient doorway. Press E to Descend into Agartha.

Inside Agartha

  • A hollow-earth pocket world: about 250 m across, generated from your world's seed, so every world has its own Agartha. Rolling hills rise into a great bowl under a rock dome.
  • An eternal inner sun: it never gets dark and it never rains, even at night outside.
  • Life: real Meadows and Black Forest trees, bushes, berries, mushrooms, rocks and ore. You can chop, mine and pick them, and they are saved like anywhere else. There is lush grass too.
  • Shamballa: the ruined crystal city of the builders stands on the far side. It has a black-marble plaza, fallen columns, glowing crystal spires, and five runestones that tell the legend of Agartha.
  • Ascend: the doorway near where you arrive takes you back to the gate.
  • No monsters and no loot. It's an easter egg to discover, explore and settle.

Building

Building in Agartha follows the world's Dungeon build setting, exactly like vanilla dungeons:

  • off (the default): explore only
  • on: you can build your hidden base under the inner sun

The ground itself can't be reshaped with the hoe or pickaxe.

Install

  • Install with a mod manager (r2modman or Mod Manager). Requires BepInExPack_Valheim and Jötunn.
  • The server and every player need the mod. The server places the gate when the world is created, and players without the mod are refused.
  • Only worlds created after installing have a Polar Gate.
  • The Deep North is far and freezing, so bring frost resistance and a good ship.

Commands

All commands are cheat commands, exactly like god and spawn: switch on devcommands first (F5 → devcommands). They work in single-player and hosted worlds. On a dedicated server, vanilla Valheim blocks all cheats, so admins need the Server devcommands mod by JereKuusela on their client (the server doesn't need it).

  • agartha_where: where the Polar Gate is in this world.
  • agartha_tp gate|inside: teleport to the gate or into Agartha.
  • agartha_debug: writes state to BepInEx/agartha_debug.txt.

Notes

  • All of Agartha is visible at once under the dome, so grass costs more to render than in the overworld. If your frame rate suffers there, lower the grass setting in the game options.
  • Tools that reset or regenerate locations (genloc, Upgrade World location resets) will place Agartha's trees and rocks a second time.
  • Built for the current Valheim version (Unity 6), BepInEx 5.4 and Jötunn 2.30.

Install & use Install: BepInEx plugin

  1. The archive from playbuff is the mod itself — usually a BepInEx plugin (a .dll or a plugin folder once unzipped).
  2. Recommended: use a community mod manager (such as r2modman) — pick this game, import the mod, and the manager sets up BepInEx and its dependencies for you.
  3. Manual route: install the BepInEx loader in the game folder, then drop the unzipped .dll or plugin folder into BepInEx/plugins/.
  4. Launch the game — the BepInEx console logs every plugin it loads; seeing this mod in the log means it is installed.

Mods with listed dependencies need those installed too, or they will not load. Options are usually changed in-game or in the plugin's config file. In multiplayer, the host and every client need the same mods installed.

Install these first, or the mod will not work:
