About this mod Author’s original text

Advanced Terrain Compatibility 1.0.3

Restores the six vanilla hoe and cultivator descriptions in AdvancedTerrainModifiers 1.5.4, and keeps AdvancedTerrainModifiers 1.4.1 working with Valheim 1.0. Tested with Valheim 1.0.16.

What it fixes

| Original mod version | Changes |

| --- | --- |

| AdvancedTerrainModifiers 1.5.4 | Fixes an inverted check that skipped tool descriptions and logged six misleading warnings. A missing tool now produces a warning safely. |

| AdvancedTerrainModifiers 1.4.1 | Updates the precision paint and notification calls for the current game APIs. |

The 1.5.4 fix changes only the description check. Terrain shapes, radius settings, tool costs and painting behavior stay under the original mod's control. The precision paint alignment issue noted by the upstream author is outside this fix.

Install

Install AdvancedTerrainModifiers, its dependencies, and this addon in your mod manager. Close Valheim before importing the ZIP as a local mod. Keep one copy of this addon enabled.

  • Install on each client that uses the original mod.
  • If your dedicated server runs AdvancedTerrainModifiers to synchronize settings, install this addon there too.
  • Remove the old combined ThreeModCompatibility addon before using any of the separate compatibility addons.

For manual installation, merge the ZIP's BepInEx folder into your profile root. The addon DLL belongs in BepInEx/patchers/L4zerShark_Team-AdvancedTerrainCompatibility.

Settings and verification

Use the original mod's configuration. This addon adds no settings and preserves your existing config.

At startup, the log should contain Prepared repaired TerrainTools.dll. The six Could not set description for warnings caused by the 1.5.4 inverted check should be gone. Actual missing tool prefabs can still produce a useful warning.

Only the exact reviewed DLL builds are repaired. An unrecognized build loads unchanged with a warning. The installed original DLL is preserved; repairs are written to a private BepInEx cache. Remove this addon and restart to load the original mod unchanged.

Install & use Install: BepInEx plugin

  1. The archive from playbuff is the mod itself — usually a BepInEx plugin (a .dll or a plugin folder once unzipped).
  2. Recommended: use a community mod manager (such as r2modman) — pick this game, import the mod, and the manager sets up BepInEx and its dependencies for you.
  3. Manual route: install the BepInEx loader in the game folder, then drop the unzipped .dll or plugin folder into BepInEx/plugins/.
  4. Launch the game — the BepInEx console logs every plugin it loads; seeing this mod in the log means it is installed.

Mods with listed dependencies need those installed too, or they will not load. Options are usually changed in-game or in the plugin's config file. In multiplayer, the host and every client need the same mods installed.
