Aces VeinMine
A safer, configurable vein-mining mod for Valheim.
Break connected rocks, ore deposits, trees and logs without turning every destructible object in the world into a target.

Features
- Vein-mines supported rocks and ore deposits.
- Vein-mines trees and fallen logs.
- Supports small rocks and tree stumps through narrow safety checks.
- Uses the correct tool type:
- Pickaxe for rocks and ores.
- Axe for trees, logs and stumps.
- Three activation modes:
- HoldKey
- AlwaysOn
- Off
- Default activation key: LeftShift.
- Extra mouse buttons are supported.
- Mouse0, Mouse1 and Mouse2 are blocked from use as the activation key.
- Vanilla Valheim item drops are preserved.
- Fail-closed safety: unknown destructibles are ignored.
Safety
Aces VeinMine deliberately avoids generic destruction patches.
The mod targets known natural resource classes such as:
- MineRock
- MineRock5
- TreeBase
- TreeLog
Small rocks and stumps are handled only through tightly-filtered Destructible checks.
Anything that cannot be confidently identified as a supported natural resource is left alone.
Configuration
After launching the game once with the mod installed, edit the generated BepInEx configuration or use a compatible configuration manager.
Activation Mode
HoldKey
VeinMine activates while the configured key is held.
AlwaysOn
VeinMine activates automatically when using the correct tool on a supported resource.
Off
Disables VeinMine without uninstalling the mod.
Hold Key
Default: LeftShift
Extra mouse buttons such as Mouse3 and above are supported.
Primary mouse buttons Mouse0, Mouse1 and Mouse2 are intentionally rejected.
Drops
Aces VeinMine uses normal Valheim drop behavior. Item quantities and drop locations are not modified.
Compatibility
Client-side BepInEx mod for Valheim.
Unknown or unsupported destructible objects are intentionally ignored for safety.

Debug Logging
In BepInEx/config/acesgaminguk.acesveinmine.cfg:

EnableDebugLogging = false
Set to true to write detailed diagnostic messages to BepInEx/LogOutput.log, or use a compatible config manager. When editing the file manually, close the game first and restart afterwards. Turn it back to false after reproducing a problem. The setting persists and does not change mining behavior. Diagnostics include target/prefab identity, activation and tool checks, and before/after pickaxe/chop damage. Existing error logs remain available when debug is off.
Console Commands
- acesveinmine on: use HoldKey mode with your configured key.
- acesveinmine always: use AlwaysOn mode.
- acesveinmine off: disable vein mining.
- acesveinmine: show current mode and usage.
Mode changes save to the existing config. Tool and resource checks still apply. The mod does not open the console or enable cheats.
This release does not contain the DEV identify, nearby or drop-inspection commands.
Install & use Install: BepInEx plugin
- The archive from playbuff is the mod itself — usually a BepInEx plugin (a .dll or a plugin folder once unzipped).
- Recommended: use a community mod manager (such as r2modman) — pick this game, import the mod, and the manager sets up BepInEx and its dependencies for you.
- Manual route: install the BepInEx loader in the game folder, then drop the unzipped .dll or plugin folder into BepInEx/plugins/.
- Launch the game — the BepInEx console logs every plugin it loads; seeing this mod in the log means it is installed.
Mods with listed dependencies need those installed too, or they will not load. Options are usually changed in-game or in the plugin's config file. In multiplayer, the host and every client need the same mods installed.
