Description
AbsentBreed allows tamed animals to make progress towards breeding even while no players are nearby. The main goal of this mod is to allow players the freedom to make effective, standalone animal farms that behave the way crops behave where you can leave them alone and come back to find that they've grown. This mod stores the time when the animals were last checked on, then, when checked on again, applies the accumulated breeding time over a short period. The animals will catch up by breeding and growing up as much as they would have if a player had been there the whole time. In practice, when you arrive at an animal farm after an absence, you'll see a chaotic amount of hearts and new babies as the animals breed as much as they would have if someone was there.
Details
- This mod works on dedicated servers as well as locally hosted or single player games. All parties should have the mod installed.
- This mod works for all breedable animals (Boars, Wolves, Lox, Chickens / Eggs, and Asksvins).
- While 'catching up', new babies will grow up and eggs will hatch at an accelerated rate.
- All normal requirements for breeding (breeding pairs / food / not agitated / etc) must still be met.
- This is only an approximation of how the animals would have bred. Compared to normal breeding, slightly __fewer__ animals will usually be bred over a given amount of time though slightly __more__ animals will usually fit into the same size pen.
Install & use Install: BepInEx plugin
- The archive from playbuff is the mod itself — usually a BepInEx plugin (a .dll or a plugin folder once unzipped).
- Recommended: use a community mod manager (such as r2modman) — pick this game, import the mod, and the manager sets up BepInEx and its dependencies for you.
- Manual route: install the BepInEx loader in the game folder, then drop the unzipped .dll or plugin folder into BepInEx/plugins/.
- Launch the game — the BepInEx console logs every plugin it loads; seeing this mod in the log means it is installed.
Mods with listed dependencies need those installed too, or they will not load. Options are usually changed in-game or in the plugin's config file. In multiplayer, the host and every client need the same mods installed.
Install these first, or the mod will not work:
