V Rising Controller Vibration
This is a fix and workaround for the bugged gamepad haptics in V Rising.
I implemented my own system to trigger vibration on certain gameplay events.
Requirements
BepInEx 1.733.2
Installation
- Put the DLL into the BepInEx plugins folder.
- The plugin will create a config file in the BepInEx config folder.
This file is meant for toggling info logging of this plugin.
The default setting is "false". If you have any issue, set it to "true".
Errors and warnings will be logged regardless. The additional info tells you if and what textures have been replaced.
The info logging is disabled by default to avoid spamming the log file, but it can be helpful for debugging.
Technical details
The plugin works by detecting which abilities are used by the player and which buffs are applied.
Technically all weapon and spell slots count as abilities, while buffs are "tags" applied to the player character,
to indicate certain status effects, such as being hit by certain enemy abilites and spells and other statuses,
in addition to what is generally understood as "buffs", gameplaywise.

Install & use Install: BepInEx plugin
- The archive from playbuff is the mod itself — usually a BepInEx plugin (a .dll or a plugin folder once unzipped).
- Recommended: use a community mod manager (such as r2modman) — pick this game, import the mod, and the manager sets up BepInEx and its dependencies for you.
- Manual route: install the BepInEx loader in the game folder, then drop the unzipped .dll or plugin folder into BepInEx/plugins/.
- Launch the game — the BepInEx console logs every plugin it loads; seeing this mod in the log means it is installed.
Mods with listed dependencies need those installed too, or they will not load. Options are usually changed in-game or in the plugin's config file.
