Controls where dominated prisoners are sent when using the Dusk Caller.

About this mod Author’s original text

KinCaller

KinCaller is a server modification for V Rising that controls where dominated prisoners get sent when you use the Dusk Caller. Instead of the game routing them to the closest allied holding cell, you choose the destination by placing a map marker while you have a dominated target.

Stop playing hide-and-seek with your captives.

Thanks to the V Rising modding and server communities for ideas and requests!

Features

  • While in dominating presence, place a map marker on your own or an allied (clan) territory to set it as your duskcaller target.
  • New prisoners are routed to an empty holding cell in that territory.
  • If that territory has no empty cell (or you never set a target), prisoners fall back to the nearest empty cell in your own castle, and if that's also full, then to the vanilla destination.
  • Your target persists through server restarts and stays set until you change it, clear it, or it stops being your own/allied castle.

Commands

| Command | Description |

|-----------------|------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------|

|.caller status | Shows your current duskcaller target territory and how many empty holding cells it has. |

|.caller clear | Clears your duskcaller target. Prisoners will go to your nearest castle holding cell. |

To set a target, you don't use a command. While dominating, just place a map marker on your own or an allied territory.

Routing Priority

When a prisoner is captured, KinCaller picks a destination in this order:

  • The nearest empty holding cell in your marked territory (if it's still your own or an allied castle).
  • The nearest empty holding cell in your own castles.
  • The vanilla game destination (nearest allied).

A message confirms where the prisoner was routed.

Installation

  • Install BepInEx, which is required for modding V Rising. Follow the instructions at BepInEx Installation Guide.
  • Download KinCaller along with its dependency, VampireCommandFramework (VCF).
  • Place the.dll files into the BepInEx\plugins directory of your V Rising dedicated server install.
  • Start the server. KinCaller will be active.

Install & use Install: BepInEx plugin

  1. The archive from playbuff is the mod itself — usually a BepInEx plugin (a .dll or a plugin folder once unzipped).
  2. Recommended: use a community mod manager (such as r2modman) — pick this game, import the mod, and the manager sets up BepInEx and its dependencies for you.
  3. Manual route: install the BepInEx loader in the game folder, then drop the unzipped .dll or plugin folder into BepInEx/plugins/.
  4. Launch the game — the BepInEx console logs every plugin it loads; seeing this mod in the log means it is installed.

Mods with listed dependencies need those installed too, or they will not load. Options are usually changed in-game or in the plugin's config file.
