CastleLink
A server-side V Rising mod that lets a player use the
resources stored across all of the castles they own — not just the one they're
standing in.
Because V Rising computes crafting/building affordability on the client, a
server mod cannot make a distant castle's resources appear "available" out of thin
air. CastleLink solves this by physically pulling the resources you need from
your other castles, on demand:
- Crafting — right-click a recipe at a crafting station and CastleLink pulls
the recipe's missing materials from your other castles into your inventory, so
the craft can proceed.
- Chat commands — gather resources between your castles, top up stacks, and
deposit items neatly back into their dedicated storage boxes.
This mod is server-side only. Players do not need to install anything.
Features
- Pull crafting materials from your other castles automatically (right-click a recipe).
- Gather resources from your other castles straight into the current castle's
storage boxes, or into your inventory.
- Category-based bulk pull (armor, weapons, herbs, materials, and many more).
- Smart deposit that only stores items which have a dedicated storage box
(materials, herbs, alchemy, etc.), leaves gear in your inventory, and moves
blood potions as whole item entities so their blood type/quality survives.
- Only affects castles owned by the same player. Raided castles are skipped.
Commands
All commands use the VampireCommandFramework
prefix (default.).
| Command | Alias | Description |
|---|---|---|
|.clhelp |.clh | List all CastleLink commands and categories. |
|.wolt |.all | Top up this castle's storage boxes to one full stack of each storable item, pulled from your other castles. |
|.pull | | Top up items you already carry to one full stack (storable items only). |
|.pull | | Pull a specific item by PrefabGUID hash. |
|.pullcat |.pc | Pull one stack of each item in a category into your inventory (topping up to a full stack; other castles first, then the current one). |
|.deposit |.dep | Deposit your inventory's items into this castle's dedicated storage boxes (skips your hotbar; leaves armor/weapons; blood potions keep their blood type/quality). |
Categories
armor, weapons, gear, herbs, materials, jewels, consumables, fish,
coins, gems, blood, soulshards, relics, bags, saddles, stables,
magic, lumber, stone, minerals, alchemy, tailoring, flowers,
everything.
Crafting
Just right-click a recipe at a crafting station. If your inventory + the station
don't have enough, CastleLink pulls the shortfall from your other castles.
Requirements
- A dedicated V Rising server (this mod does not run on the client).
- BepInEx (IL2CPP pack for V Rising).
- VampireCommandFramework.
- The player must own more than one castle for sharing to do anything.
Installation
- Install the BepInEx pack for V Rising and VampireCommandFramework on your server.
- Drop CastleLink.dll into BepInEx/plugins.
- Start the server.
(Or install via a V Rising mod manager.)
Building from source
This mod targets the current V Rising build and uses recent game types that are
not yet present in the public VRising.Unhollowed.Client NuGet package. You must
therefore build against the interop assemblies generated by your own BepInEx install:
- Run your modded server once so BepInEx generates BepInEx/interop.
- Copy the DLLs from /BepInEx/interop/ into../server-interop/interop/
(relative to this project), or set the InteropDir property:
dotnet build -c Release -p:InteropDir="C:\path\to\BepInEx\interop"
How it works (short version)
- Ownership: a castle heart is mapped to its owner via the territory owner's
PlatformId; all hearts with the same owner form the shared pool.
- Crafting: patches StopCraftingSystem to read the recipe's
RecipeRequirementBuffer and transfer the shortfall from other castles' chests.
- Storage: enumerates each castle's chests via the heart's
SharedCastleInventories, and uses the game's
Install & use Install: BepInEx plugin
- The archive from playbuff is the mod itself — usually a BepInEx plugin (a .dll or a plugin folder once unzipped).
- Recommended: use a community mod manager (such as r2modman) — pick this game, import the mod, and the manager sets up BepInEx and its dependencies for you.
- Manual route: install the BepInEx loader in the game folder, then drop the unzipped .dll or plugin folder into BepInEx/plugins/.
- Launch the game — the BepInEx console logs every plugin it loads; seeing this mod in the log means it is installed.
Mods with listed dependencies need those installed too, or they will not load. Options are usually changed in-game or in the plugin's config file.
Install these first, or the mod will not work:
